Review summary

Not like the great HAL cruse in Alaska last summer. Which is why we decided to book HAL again.

First the good: The Nieuw Amsterdam is a beautiful ship. The cabin crew is great and will do anything they can for you. I suspect the cabins, which were adequate, are the same as any of the HAL ships.

The bad: The rest of the crew is OK but lacked the enthusiasm the Alaskan cruse had. The food was also OK but nothing special. No bold flavors and quite bland with no real identity. The entertainment was put together for the Lawrence Welk crowd. They did have a nice blues and steel band, but you kind of wander who they they were playing for.

This cruse was definitely for the geriatric crowd.
