My cruise experience by htimslk807

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Enjoyed cruise but I'd rather be on one without children.  Some of them were out of control.  I have nothing else to say.  The employees were excellent.

Enjoyable Cruise for whole family by loridiest

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was a wonderful cruise for our whole family.  The Royal Family Suite was amazing and everything that came with it.  The ship has lots to offer for my whole family.  The new tiny tot program and area is wonderful  It was perfect for my 15 month old grandson.  The new flow rider was so enjoyable for my older sons.  We all had a great time!

Cruise by Chug

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was okay. The boat was nice, it was designed nicely. The casino was a little dated and didnt have very good payouts. Everything else was nice though. The food was okay. Some of the staff was amazing and then some of the staff were just rude. It was a wide range of personalities. Getting off the boat left a bad taste in our mouth. It was very unorganized and took 3-4 hours. Previously on Carnival (same stops) it took about 10-20 minutes. This was just bad. We met one lady that was sent to the back of the line 3 xs because the line was not organized or directed.

Best vacation ever! by dewynter

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

From the moment I stepped on board, I was impressed with the vibrant energy and the luxuriousness of the Navigator.  I loved the subtle lighting along the Promenade, loved the shops and really loved the food. Each meal was delicious - from a casual breakfast at the Windjammer to the melt-in-you-mouth steak at the Chops Grill. And I especially loved being taken care of and pampered.

Our stateroom with balcony was very well designed and appointed.  There was more than enough room to put everything away.  And the room was quiet.

Every one of the crew that I came across smiled and said hello, and they seemed genuinely happy to see me.

All in all - this trip was worth every penny!

Can't wait to book the next one!

First time sailers by allaboutmeandmi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The experience my family and I had with Royal Caribbean as first time sailers was not what we expected or was use too as many of us have sailed before. There were 10 people in my party including myself. 7 of us have sailed before were as  3 of us were first time sailers. In the past we have used Carnival, so our expectations were high. Our sail date was August 17, my 42 birthday. My family and I were suppose to have our dinning set for the family to be together to celebrate my birthday and a cake was suppose to be ordered. When we checked in my family and I were scattered all offer the dinning room and in different locations. Also my cake wasn't ordered.I was advised by the person on the 4th floor to celebrate my birthday the next night or to have my family and I to go on another floor and dine somewhere else. On tope of that the room service was awful .  We ordered room service sever times and never received it, or when we did receive it, it wasn't what we ordered. We have never had to pay for room service if we order between the hours of 12 am and 5am. For the size of the ship there wasn't staff. We also have never been on a cruise where we had to eat the same foods for 7 days in a row. We knew what we were going to have for breakfast lunch and dinner. We also have not had it were after 9pm access to food was limited. Also when your on vacation it is suppose to be a time for family and fun. Not for every one that is 17 and under to be in by 1am. Last but not least, the adult after hours entertainment was very limited. The only after-hours entertainment was our young people of todays music. There was no rhythm and Blues, Jazz, of any other kind of entertainment which we were use to on our previously sailed cruises with Carnival. Now the ship itself overall was beautiful The scenery, the design and many other features were great. But the service topped it off as terrible.

Navigator of the Seas 8-17-14 by kenk37

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall experience was very good, including dining, friendliness of crew/staff, excursions, quality of food and much more. Very few negatives that I can think of....just the check-in nightmare of having 2 cruise ships embarking at the same time and debarking snafu of having people wait on the 3rd deck only to have everyone move to 4th deck to debark, which meant having to drag luggage up a flight of stairs.

But all-in-all it was a pleasurable experience!

excellent by ernestoguerra61

Excellent service, superb accommodation and extremely friendly crew members. All and all a magnificent experience. Thanks for your attentions. Only one problem, our next door neighbor was making sexual sounds every time we were in our stateroom. Guess services couldn't help us so we had to put up with that the whole cruise long.

This was my first time cruising but defiantly will not be my last. They go above and beyond to make your experience unforgettable. From the moment you get on to the unfortunate ending of getting off, you will be treated to a amazing time.

First Cruise by krriera

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first cruise and we were very happy with the level of service that we received. The rooms were clean, the decks were clean, the food was great and everyone was so kind and friendly. Many of the bars closed early and I expected them to be open longer and more often.

Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Its my first time to go on a cruise ship though ive been to many places around the world, fortunately I had this amazing and unforgetable experience with Royal Carribean. They have the wonderful, happy and hard working crew wherein they make sure people would enjoy their cruise. Food is always the best! And of course the entertainment.

Had A Great Time by lorayrmontgomer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The best part of my cruise was eating in the dining room.  Our server Tamara was the BEST!  She was very knowledgeable and made great recommendations.  The entertainment needs to be updated.  It did not appeal or relate to people in their late 20s to late 30s.  The barbeque on one of the sea days was excellent.  I did not however like the food in the windjammer.  I don’t like eating or should I say being served from a pot and it seems so crowded.  There was not enough staff that came around to accommodate you if you needed something and you certainly didn’t want to lose your seat.  Overall I had a very good time and I would take this cruise again.  Just hope the activities are updated.

OUR FIRST CRUISE by dangmcd

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

THIS WAS OUR FIRST CRUISE.

IT WAS FANTASTIC!

THE SHIP WAS SO WELL RUN. ALL OF THE CREW WERE DOING THEIR JOBS.

(AND THEY DO THEM WELL)

THE FOOD WAS GREAT. THE PEOPLE WERE GREAT AND SO FRIENDLY.

EVERYONE OF THE CREW WERE THERE TO SERVE YOU FOR WHAT EVER YOU NEEDED.

THE SHORE EXCURSIONS WERE GREAT. WE DID A CATAMARAN SNORKEL IN COZUMEL,

A SHIP WRECK SNORKEL IN GRAND CAYMAN, AND JUST RELAXED ON THE BEACH IN JAMAICA.

WE ENJOYED RED STRIPE BEACH, BUT IT REALLY WASN'T ANYTHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT. SMALL AND SECLUDED, BUT AS WE WALKED DOWN THE SHORELINE YOU COULD SEE IN THE BUSHES BEHIND THE BEACH ALL OF THE TRASH THAT WASHES UP IN HIGH TIDE. SERIOUSLY, THEY COULD CLEAN THAT UP AND MAKE IT MUCH NICER.

Great time by deborahoelscher

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The service and staff were wonderful. Shows were Ok, but not geared for people under 40. Loved The guest event. The ice show is fantastic. The food in the dining was Ok. I never want to do my time again. THE WAIT WAS TOO LONG. The food in the Windjammer was very good, and the staff that works in there are, so friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the stores that were in a mall style. If you are going to drink at least 6 mix drinks a day, get the all inclusive beverage package. Well worth the cost. I do not like that you cannot bring bottle water or sodas on the ship. I also wish the ship had a laundry room to do your clothes. Over all I did enjoy the cruise.

Royal Caribbean vs Carnival Cruise lines by sharisawyer2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Beautiful ship, wonderful staff!! We have sailed on Carnival 5 times and were hesitant to try another cruise line.  In comparing RC to Carnival there are big differences.  RC was a much more relaxing cruise, all areas of the ship were kept clean all of the time. With RC we loved the fact that the adult pool area was kept an adult area, Carnival seemed to always look the other way when teenagers came and got in the adult hot tubs or pools. The décor was beautiful and the layout of the ship made it so easy to get around.  We loved the "boardwalk" area of the ship, having all the little cafes and shops all in the same area made it a much more enjoyable shopping experience, you could shop a little, sit down and have a cup of coffee, something to eat, a glass of wine or a sit in a pub and have a beer. The staff was incredible, friendly and helpful. We found the atmosphere to be amazing, the entertainment was over the top, especially the Ice Skating show! Our only complaint was the food.  The buffets were practically the same every night and the deserts were nothing spectacular. The food in the main restaurant wasn't worth getting dressed up for. We were very disappointed that they didn't have any ice carvings or special buffet night where they set out ice carvings and decorated vegetable and fruit carvings like Carnival will do at least once during your cruise.  But if we had to choose our favorite cruise line it would be Royal Caribbean due to the ambiance, and the overall relaxation that this cruise gave us.

Best vacation ever by yesikaegutierre

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

For the first time, I was not ready to come back home from the cruise. We enjoyed it very much and kids had a blast! Totally recommend it, the staff was amazing. Loved the fact that staff takes time to speak with guests, play with children and always very helpful and friendly. Food was delicious but does need more Mexican food, maybe enchiladas, tostadas and so on. Rooms were very comfortable, and clean. Entertainment couldn't be better. My kids loved the dancing, and ice skating shows, we had to watch them twice. My 3 year old wouldn't even blink. We will definitely do it again!

Very nice ship. by legalgirl53

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our experience overall was very good.  Our room was clean and if there was a problem (we had issues with our shower) our stateroom attendant took care of it immediately. The specialty restaurants were amazing, food was over the top as well as the service.

Our excursion to Belize, the beach day, was awful.  The beach was dirty and there was no sand at all to sit on.  We refer to this as "Gilligan's Island", big disappointment.

Not enough shows and the timing was bad.

Getting off the ship was caotic.  It took forever and our bus shuttle to the airport was also SLOW and disorderly, so uch so that we missed our flight back to Newark.  We were not happy.

But overall, the ship was beautiful and I would definitely sail this line again and I have already recommended the ship to my family members.

Wonderful week on the Navigator! by gabbykroon

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

If you want to travel to Central America but are nervous about finding a safe place to stay with your family, cruising is for you! My 18 year old sister and I took the Navigator to Roatan, Belize and Cozumel for her graduation trip. This was my first cruise and I loved it! Stay to the tourist areas off ship and you will be fine. I recommend booking your excursions outside of the cruise line through or independent companies because it is less expensive and there are less people so you get to experience more. Check reviews and you will get a pretty good idea of what you're getting into.

On the ship, go to all the shows in the evening and eat in the dining room as much as possible!

Overall, a fantastic trip! I got home and was ready to book my next one!

Had A Great Time by jeffaugust88

We have been on many cruises and this one ranked right up there with one of the best. The ship was beautiful and kept very clean. The crew was very helpful and informative. I have read a lot of reviews about the Port in Galveston, we had no problems at all. We'll go again Big Smile.
