Great Family Vacation by JimDiestel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise was a great opportunity to get the extended family together and booking a suite was great.  It served as an informal meeting area and general spot to have a conversation virtually anytime of the day or night.  There are some great amenities on the Nav of the Seas including Johnny Rockets, the FlowRider, climbing wall, mini golf, casino, and just great venues for laying around to read a book.  Meals were nice and varied beyond what I normally have at home but not quite up to the quality on Celebrity.  The waiters were excellent and fantastic at delivering immediate food service for my 15 month grandchild while the rest of us studied menus.

The drawbacks are the ports of call.  Roatan had beautiful beaches but what a desperately poor island with desperate people trying to make money; it is one thing for a country to encourage tourism but depressing when the poverty level is so high.  Belize was great with lots to do but the tender situation is ridiculous; either find another port or dredge that one so ships can get to shore.  As to Cozumel, in a few years with global warning and rising ocean levels the problems of this port will be solved.  I summary, only Belize was worth the stop but very limited in time by the long tender rides.

I would advise some considerable change to the disembarking.  I am willing to bet that half the problem was arriving in the middle of a three day weekend (Labor Day) and the longshoremen were likely the least senior if not just hired that day.  But you should have anticipated this and taken charge.  Yeah, I hear you saying you can't interfere with the unions; then stop porting at Galveston.  You threat to leave and things will straighten up.

it's ok, would recommend it by vegaso

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

This is my third cruise with Royal, compare to the pass cruises, this is releatively disappointed to me. The onboard services is not as great as other cruises and the staffs are not as friendly either. The ship is kinda old, and the passangers are also older generation, which was surprising to me, since the pass cruises are full of younger generation. The onboard entertainments are also fit for the older generation.

Could Have Been Better by lstrohbehn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my third cruise with RCCL and the first two were much better.  Overall, we had a good time but did notice that the service on board was not as good as on previous cruises.  We sailed three hours late due to "mechanical issues" and the A/C on the ship was not functioning properly the entire 7 days.  I was hot, hot, hot and not in a good way.  I will cruise RCCL again and hope that it's better next time.

Good times by sidthurston

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

everything but no food options after 9pm, except one small snack station next to the Starbucks coffee bar, was great. Clean rooms, great service staff, good entertainment and great food, except as noted above.

Disappointed by drmarshall007

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I could not understand any of the announcements that were given on the ship.  Most people running the ship had very poor English communication skills.  I had a one situation that cost me additional money, due to poor communication. I burned myself on a heat lamp in the main dining room, and tried to get burn gel or burn ointment from a first-aid kit and there was nothing for burns in the first-aid cabinet, so I went to medical and was told they had nothing for burns and was never questioned about the incident, again the guy spoke very broken English.  I was disappointed there were so many things on the ship that were at an additional cost.  I provided a credit card for additional charges, which was supposed to be taken out the last day of the cruise, but some of the charges were pre-authorized, so over a hundred dollars in pre-authorized charges was tied up for a week after the cruise.  The ship departed Galveston 3-1/2 hours late.  On another note...the ship was very nice, and the room attendants were very accommodating.

Great cruise by jgdtexas

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my first cruise on Royal Caribbean and my third cruise overall. The interior stateroom seemed a little bit larger than the other cruise line. In every category, people, food, entertainment, the RC cruise seemed just a little bit nicer. I'll stick with RC from here on unless they give me a reason not to.

Cruise for young people by loydenechadwick

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We enjoyed our cruise, lots to do and most of the shows were great.  I would recommend this cruise, but only to those who are not going on the cruise to eat.  most of the food was either over cooked or under cooked in the Main dining room and Windjammer (buffet).  This cruise is more for young people lots of great stuff, climbing wall, ice rink, and surfing pool.

My cruise experience by htimslk807

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Enjoyed cruise but I'd rather be on one without children.  Some of them were out of control.  I have nothing else to say.  The employees were excellent.

This was a wonderful cruise for our whole family.  The Royal Family Suite was amazing and everything that came with it.  The ship has lots to offer for my whole family.  The new tiny tot program and area is wonderful  It was perfect for my 15 month old grandson.  The new flow rider was so enjoyable for my older sons.  We all had a great time!

Cruise by Chug

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was okay. The boat was nice, it was designed nicely. The casino was a little dated and didnt have very good payouts. Everything else was nice though. The food was okay. Some of the staff was amazing and then some of the staff were just rude. It was a wide range of personalities. Getting off the boat left a bad taste in our mouth. It was very unorganized and took 3-4 hours. Previously on Carnival (same stops) it took about 10-20 minutes. This was just bad. We met one lady that was sent to the back of the line 3 xs because the line was not organized or directed.

Best vacation ever! by dewynter

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

From the moment I stepped on board, I was impressed with the vibrant energy and the luxuriousness of the Navigator.  I loved the subtle lighting along the Promenade, loved the shops and really loved the food. Each meal was delicious - from a casual breakfast at the Windjammer to the melt-in-you-mouth steak at the Chops Grill. And I especially loved being taken care of and pampered.

Our stateroom with balcony was very well designed and appointed.  There was more than enough room to put everything away.  And the room was quiet.

Every one of the crew that I came across smiled and said hello, and they seemed genuinely happy to see me.

All in all - this trip was worth every penny!

Can't wait to book the next one!

First time sailers by allaboutmeandmi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The experience my family and I had with Royal Caribbean as first time sailers was not what we expected or was use too as many of us have sailed before. There were 10 people in my party including myself. 7 of us have sailed before were as  3 of us were first time sailers. In the past we have used Carnival, so our expectations were high. Our sail date was August 17, my 42 birthday. My family and I were suppose to have our dinning set for the family to be together to celebrate my birthday and a cake was suppose to be ordered. When we checked in my family and I were scattered all offer the dinning room and in different locations. Also my cake wasn't ordered.I was advised by the person on the 4th floor to celebrate my birthday the next night or to have my family and I to go on another floor and dine somewhere else. On tope of that the room service was awful .  We ordered room service sever times and never received it, or when we did receive it, it wasn't what we ordered. We have never had to pay for room service if we order between the hours of 12 am and 5am. For the size of the ship there wasn't staff. We also have never been on a cruise where we had to eat the same foods for 7 days in a row. We knew what we were going to have for breakfast lunch and dinner. We also have not had it were after 9pm access to food was limited. Also when your on vacation it is suppose to be a time for family and fun. Not for every one that is 17 and under to be in by 1am. Last but not least, the adult after hours entertainment was very limited. The only after-hours entertainment was our young people of todays music. There was no rhythm and Blues, Jazz, of any other kind of entertainment which we were use to on our previously sailed cruises with Carnival. Now the ship itself overall was beautiful The scenery, the design and many other features were great. But the service topped it off as terrible.

Navigator of the Seas 8-17-14 by kenk37

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall experience was very good, including dining, friendliness of crew/staff, excursions, quality of food and much more. Very few negatives that I can think of....just the check-in nightmare of having 2 cruise ships embarking at the same time and debarking snafu of having people wait on the 3rd deck only to have everyone move to 4th deck to debark, which meant having to drag luggage up a flight of stairs.

But all-in-all it was a pleasurable experience!

excellent by ernestoguerra61

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

Excellent service, superb accommodation and extremely friendly crew members. All and all a magnificent experience. Thanks for your attentions. Only one problem, our next door neighbor was making sexual sounds every time we were in our stateroom. Guess services couldn't help us so we had to put up with that the whole cruise long.

This was my first time cruising but defiantly will not be my last. They go above and beyond to make your experience unforgettable. From the moment you get on to the unfortunate ending of getting off, you will be treated to a amazing time.

First Cruise by krriera

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first cruise and we were very happy with the level of service that we received. The rooms were clean, the decks were clean, the food was great and everyone was so kind and friendly. Many of the bars closed early and I expected them to be open longer and more often.

Its my first time to go on a cruise ship though ive been to many places around the world, fortunately I had this amazing and unforgetable experience with Royal Carribean. Had A Great Time by lorayrmontgomer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The best part of my cruise was eating in the dining room.  Our server Tamara was the BEST!  She was very knowledgeable and made great recommendations.  The entertainment needs to be updated.  It did not appeal or relate to people in their late 20s to late 30s.  The barbeque on one of the sea days was excellent.  I did not however like the food in the windjammer.  I don’t like eating or should I say being served from a pot and it seems so crowded.  There was not enough staff that came around to accommodate you if you needed something and you certainly didn’t want to lose your seat.  Overall I had a very good time and I would take this cruise again.  Just hope the activities are updated.

OUR FIRST CRUISE by dangmcd

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

THIS WAS OUR FIRST CRUISE.

IT WAS FANTASTIC!

THE SHIP WAS SO WELL RUN. ALL OF THE CREW WERE DOING THEIR JOBS.

(AND THEY DO THEM WELL)

THE FOOD WAS GREAT. THE PEOPLE WERE GREAT AND SO FRIENDLY.

EVERYONE OF THE CREW WERE THERE TO SERVE YOU FOR WHAT EVER YOU NEEDED.

THE SHORE EXCURSIONS WERE GREAT. WE DID A CATAMARAN SNORKEL IN COZUMEL,

A SHIP WRECK SNORKEL IN GRAND CAYMAN, AND JUST RELAXED ON THE BEACH IN JAMAICA.

WE ENJOYED RED STRIPE BEACH, BUT IT REALLY WASN'T ANYTHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT. SMALL AND SECLUDED, BUT AS WE WALKED DOWN THE SHORELINE YOU COULD SEE IN THE BUSHES BEHIND THE BEACH ALL OF THE TRASH THAT WASHES UP IN HIGH TIDE. SERIOUSLY, THEY COULD CLEAN THAT UP AND MAKE IT MUCH NICER.
