All in all we had a great time.  The only complaint we had was the bars closing too early.  We were in the adult section at 9:00pm and had to go to the sky lounge just to get a drink.

CRUISE REVIEW by mannie18

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I TOTALLY ENJOYED THE SHIP.  THE FOOD WAS NOT SO GOOD IN THE WINDJAMMER. I THINK THE MEAT COULD BE COOKED A LITTLE LONGER SOME MEAT THAT I RECEIVED WAS STILL WAY TO PINK FOR ME.  BACON NEED TO BE COOKED TO BE CRISPY.  I DO THINK THAT JOHNNY ROCKETS SHOULD BE FREE AND THAT THE SANDWICH PLACE SHOULD MAKE SANDWICHES TO BE MADE TO ORDER.   OTHER THAN THAT THE SERVICE AND SERVICE PEOPLE WERE VERY FRIENDLY.    OTHER THAN THAT EVERYTHING WAS FINE.

Awesome experience by dkoveleski

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My wife and I loved the cruise.  We have fond memories, and still talk about it days later, about our waiters and our cabin steward.  Start with the waiters - they remembered our names every night and always asked how are day was.  They treated us like king and queen there.  Awesome service and many, many smiles.  Our cabin steward remembered our names the first morning on the ship.  Everytime he saw us in the hallway, he always asked how we are and if we had a good night's sleep, nice excursion, dinner and evening.  Three of the nights he had surprises for us made of towels (animals).  Waiters were Melvine and Rohan.  The cabin steward was Ronald.  Also great food and awesome hospitality by everyone on the ship.  Did I say awesome on every experience - well it was.  Will do again.

Food by adamsth1

We enjoyed the cruise but found the food in the main dining room to be average and the breakfast in the Windjammer to be sub-par. They need to hire someone that can cook Grits, Oatmeal and scrambled eggs.

Restful Cruise by chazzbrown

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This trip was a relaxing one in which I did not leave ship at ports of call except Roatan. Honduras.  Passengers were of all ages but very few teenagers.  Ship is still in good condition and crew were friendly and helpful.  Food in all venues were good.

Mother/Daughter cruise by mwr73

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

After an avid Carnival cruiser, my daughter and I tried Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas for the first time.  We had a great time at the ports of call in Cozumel, Mexico, Belize City, Belize, and Roatan, Honduras.  The ship was very nicely furnished/decorated and the staff was great.  My only negative feedback from Royal Caribbean is that everything seems to be geared towards an older crowd.  Most of the activities have a cost affiliated with them unless you stay pool side.  The mattresses in the inside stateroom were horribly firm, where you could not get comfortable and egg crates or extra pillows aren't available.  The food was ok, similar to Carnival.

nothing special by pennsylvania

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was very and the crew was excellent, but there were a few things that I was not impressed with. I have cruised with Royal Caribbean three times before and I don't think that this cruise measured up to the previous three. For one thing the Lido deck cafeteria closed for three (3) hours in the afternoon especially after coming back from off ship excursions. Another thing was that the "tenor" of the ship was not as good as my previous cruises.

Our best cruise yet! by njwags

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I have to start with a negative.  The port at Galveston is a big mess with disembarkation of the ship which just arrived and then passengers arriving for the next.  They do not let you go park upon arrival.  You must wait in a LONG line in order to drop off one passenger and all your luggage.  So I was standing along the curb trying to get a porter (in 90 + degree heat) and his reply was you will just have to wait.  We are working on taking care of the passengers arriving.  This is around 11:30 a.m. and we were told boarding began at 11 a.m.  After my husband got to the parking lot and boarded the shuttle bus, they had to again wait in the LONG time of cars trying to get to the terminal.  Just very unorganized.  Disembarkation wasn't much better.  My advice is to wait in the line to get a porter because you then go immediately to customs.  The people taking care of their own luggage had to wait in a very LONG time in order to get through customs.  I again had to wait on the curb for like 30 minutes or more with all our luggage for my husband to go get the car and return!  Just seemed like something could be done differently.  And yes, the arriving passengers for embarkation were having the same problems I did the week before.

Now for the cruise (8/23 to 8/30).  It was just great.  We really enjoyed our room (9229).  Our room steward did his job.  We did not see much of him, but if we had a concern he addressed it, in his own time.  Room was interior and very adequate.  We did not even use all the storage provided.  We used the "My Time" dining and did make a reservation time for each night before we left.  We were always seated immediately.  I think those who either did not make a reservation or had a different reservation time each night found out they had to wait for a table to become available.  We had a 6:15 reservation, but were told the table was ours so free feel to come at anytime.  We came as early as 5:45 and one night at 6:30.  It usually took us close to 1 1/2 hours to eat, which afforded us time to relax before the 8:30 p.m. entertainment show for the evening.  Our waiters were fabulous.  They brought is everything we wanted and option came out with an extra appetizer, extra entrée and extra dessert each evening because they wanted us to try something featured for just that night.

Entertainment was good.  The ice show in studio B was amazing.  The Quest was as crazy as ever.  We did not participate in as many games as normal, but it did seem like others were having fun.  Casino was adequate for that size ship.  Slot machines were up-to-date.  Table games were always full.

We booked 2 excursions through Royal Caribbean.  Grand Cayman we went to the Turtle Farm and enjoyed some fantastic snorkeling (equipment provided).  Oh, BTW you can check out towels from the ship so don't bother bringing along big beach towels in your luggage.  In Jamaica we did the Green Gotto cave and the Dunn River Falls.  In Cozumel we enjoyed a dune buggy tour all around the island which we booked through Cruises Only.  Just fantastic.  Included some beach time, guided snorkeling tour, lunch, and stop of some small ruins.  The whole tour was 5 hours and just wonderful.

A little wordy, but I hope some of my information will help you.

Pretty good by vetb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise was the smoothest we ever had; of course the weather was ideal.

We had never sailed on such a large ship, but everything went well especially the time it took to debark.  We were somewhat disappointed in the baked Alaska served on the last night.  It just tasted like a bunch of whipped cream.  Our room was nicely maintained by the maid.

Fantastic Adventure by sharonchism6969

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group

I had such a wonderful time on this cruise. My floor leader Karen was there for my every need. Marlon was the perfect host in the Star lounge. I was allowed to participate in the karaoke contest and was in the finals. The Cosmopolitan Club was off the chain. The DJ kept the beats going and acknowledged my birthday several times during my booty shaking!!! i had a b;last on my first cruise and will be traveling again with Royal Carribean.

Excellent trip!  I was so nervous it being my first cruise but now...I'm wondering what took me so long to do this.  I absolutely loved the staff on board, they catered to our every need..the ship was beyond beautiful.  I will definitely cruise Royal Caribbean again.

Nice ship, good ports by mlantz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Navigator is a well designed ship which was surprisingly stable throughout the cruise (compared to other ships we have sailed). Food was good though some preparations were puzzling (serving stuffed butterfly shrimp still in the shell). Activities/shows were good. We really liked the Ice show. For the most part the staff was great.

Room for improvement:

1) Outside of the buffet, there are no drink stations to get tea, coffee, juice (except for the one location on deck 5 forward, not handy for when your at the pool.)

2) They had no harnesses for full sized adults to use the Rock Climbing wall.

3) There were no porters available to help you with luggage at the Galveston terminal when we boarded. We have used this port 4 times before and never had an issue. Not sure what happened but be prepared to haul your own bags.

Navigator review by kfuzzywuzzy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was updated lately but there still are noticeable areas not updated-chairs in lounges, sofas in cabins, paint around the ship and most important ventilation from casino smoke!  Would notice in a lot of places-non bar lounges, close to casino and art auction area.  Food was not as good this time. Usually only one cooked vegetable offered in bufftet. In Café Promenade, on other cruises there were new offerings daily-sandwiches, desserts- but the same items were there everyday. Overall, it was a good cruise and we enjoyed being on this ship as it was a new one for us for on RCCL.

Had the Best Time Ever by mphipps2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Everything about our cruise was wonderful.  The ship was so nice, the accommodations were immaculate, the food and service were amazing. The bartenders in the R-Bar were so entertaining and ports were wonderful for shopping.  We didn't do any of the shore excursions.  We went in to all the ports to shop and have lunch.  We brought home several nice mementos and just enjoyed being onboard the ship.  I would highly recommend this cruise to everyone.

Good Cruise, Family Fun and Will Likely Choose Royal Caribbean Again by lkim415

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall, this was a good cruise with great food and service aboard a beautiful ship. The only criticism I have is the entertainment which I felt there should be more shows, e.g. dancing or theater production. Aside from that, this was a pleasant experience and I will likely recommend this cruise.

very dissappointed by loan77505

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It's our first time with Royal Caribbean.  The stateroom bathroom was horrible with old stain in the vanity sink and toilet bowl.  Coffee mugs were stained and smelled.  Windjammer closed at 9 pm.  Ice cream was melted.  The staffs were not friendly.  I've been with Carnival and Norwegian before and was very pleased.  I was told that Royal Caribbean is a bit higher than the others but wasn't.  Our group vowed not to go to Royal Caribbean anymore.  Disembarkment was unorganized.  We've been with for all of our cruises, but this last time wasn't pleasant either.  We were assigned seat for the dining with other family instead of ours.
