Sail Date: August 23, 2015

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

Galveston - City, food, parking and Royal Caribbean pier staff all great!

Port of Galveston Terminal 2 - Congested, confused, slow !

US Customs - Under staffed and slow allow one hour after departing ship.

Cabin / Stateroom
The Virtual Balcony helps you keep track of day and night. This cruise the view was real time forward looking.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
The luggage claim and US Customs area at Terminal 2 is the worst in 5 ports I have used.

Galveston, Texas
Eat at Fisherman's Wharf or one of the other restaurants just past Terminal 1 they open at 11:00 am.
Cozumel, Mexico
The International Pier Royal Caribbean uses is 3 miles from the center of town. It's a long walk but you can stop and soak in local culture along the way. Look in the windows at the Dolphin show for free. If it's your first time take and island tour or take a taxi tour.
George Town, Grand Cayman
Get an early trip to the stingrays they are tired and not very hungry in the afternoon. Don't miss the Turtles and Hell Post Office.
Falmouth, Jamaica
There is not much to do in Falmouth after you leave the terminal area. Book a tour. The pool at Margaritaville is cool, BUT the drinks were BAD drink elsewhere, but use their pool if you are staying near the ship all day.

Tip

DO NOT ARRIVE AT PIER 2 EARLY this only makes things worse for departing guest who are stuck in US Customs.
The R C Navigator officers and staff were warm and friendly. Service was excellent. Seas were almost calm (late August).
