Review summary
We did a lot of TA in the past with Royal but I have to say this was the most expensive one.... The ship charged you for everything and the prices are ridiculous, way out....scandalous if you ask me $ 6,50 + 18% gratitude tax, $ 7,67 for a can of Corona beer.... Probably this is their way to try to get everybody on the high priced drinking packages, but this where Royal made a classic mistake...this works only for everyone who haven’t reached Diamond status or higher, Diamond and higher, the majority, will wait with drinking until its time for the free happy hour, then dinner and a show, maybe one drink more afterwards and then they are off to bed...so Royal will not make money out of them... I had a call from the beverage manager where he was defending the high prices with rest of the cruiseline industry until I confronted him with the prices on MSC, but this is not his fault in the end but management by Royal in Miami. The food in the main dining was so so, Windjammer was this trip actually very good with a lot of variety and life cooking Friendliness of staff can be better, some where very friendly but the majority was so so, especially behind the bars with such prices Cleanliness was ok, seen better but it was ok. Our cabin was nice, cleanliness ok but you can see that the rooms need to be refurbished as other parts of the ship as well We had a nice cruise in the end but for us no more TA with Royal for a while, we are going to explore other cruise lines with better deals and prices and maybe they are not as fancy as Royal but we will see what the rest of the cruise line industry has to offer, and yes, I’m Diamond+ with RoyalEmbarkation
