Lovely ship, great staff lacked alternative included dining options.Sadly my wife got food poisoning which spoilt it for us however the medical staff were spot on once you persuaded them it was a public health issue and not chargeable. by Scuppered

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Virtuosa

Good value for money but options are restricted in that there are no included dining venues other than MDR and buffet.

Nice to try a different cruise line, but perhaps we’re not quite ready to give up on Royal Caribbean just yet

Lovely pre Christmas break by 2cruiser5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Virtuosa

We enjoyed the cruise and embarkation was straight forward. Lovely boat and we had a great time. Limited menus in the restaurants dependant on what you like to eat, although what we did have was lovely.

First time we’ve used MSC. We enjoyed our cruise, but announcements in 5 languages becomes annoying.

never again by bhx

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Virtuosa / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

MSC virtuosa 8 night european cruise from Southampton -04/11/2022, cabin no14288. I wouldn't give a single star for this company but this site doesn't allow that. I paid for a shore excursion(for me and my wife) to Mont St Michael(6/11/2022) from Cherborg cruise port. The excursion did not take place and an amount of Euro 165.24 was due to be refunded as I paid equivalent amount in ££s pre cruise. Out of this Euro 137.16 was allocated for on board expenses (and 2 Euros automatically deducted by MSc for their foundation without my permission). My final account balance was euro 24.08 in credit (+euro 2 automatically deducted for MSC foundation). I was told by the lady at the Ships reception that it will be automatically refunded to my credit card registered with them with in two weeks. That did not happen so my cruise consultant wrote to them followed by me with an e mail and a telephone call (to customer service)without any success. Then I emailed MSC Cruises UK chief executive through customer service (which may or may not have reached him).As all the attempts to resolve this failed I informed my credit card company and they( credit card) refunded my money. Subsequently I wrote to the Chief executive MSC Cruises UK (by post) explaining the whole saga but never received a reply. Virtuosa itself is a nice ship but I will not be planning to go on any cruises with MSC (nor will I recommend) as I do not want have this experience again. Please read all 1 star reviews in all cruise forums before booking with this company.

Wow what a beautiful first ever cruise by Dawnie1969

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Virtuosa

My first ever cruise after waiting years to convince my hubby to go. Checked it out for months. Ignored all the negative comments and booked it. Wow the day we boarded was so quick and efficient. I walked on board and cried as it was just so stunning in every way. Had the best ever experience and booked as soon as we came off

Decision making cruise by shawnic

Not enough staff, too many 'extras' which required payment. Photo shop ripped us off and we lost 2 photos we'd paid for. First MSC cruise will definitely be my last.

A marvelous scenic cruise. by ts1857

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Virtuosa

This was a marvelous scenic cruise, unfortunately we never got to see the northern lights even though I stayed up late on several nights in the hope they would appear. 3 of the 4 ports were excellent. MSC need to look again at using Maloy as a port.

Mostly impressive but needs a little work by lordlr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Virtuosa / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

This was our first cruise so I can't compare it with anything else. There's no doubt that the MSC Virtuosa is a stunning and impressive ship which has had a lot of time and money spent on her. Everything worked for the most part but some parts did not but these should be relatively easy to fix. If you want something quiet and to expand your mind then this ship is not for you, neither does it have much to offer for older children especially only ones. It gets really busy which can be a chore and there's a limit to the entertainment, but if you just want to sip cocktails in sumptuous surroundings or dance a lot then you'll love it. If I had one wish it would be to reduce the passenger count by 1000 which would make it a lot nicer (if not as profitable).

Virtuosa by mikehorley

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Virtuosa

Overall a good cruise. However when I travelled the ship was at about half capacity. I'm not sure what she would be like if full, probably difficult to get a seat in the main venues.

Fantastic Return to Cruising by Jas123

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Virtuosa / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Overall, this was an amazing cruise and a wonderful way to return to cruising after 18 months. The ship is huge, filled with great facilities and beautifully designed. The itinerary was good, 7 days from Southampton, calling at Portland, Liverpool and Belfast (ignore the one listed - the app/cruiseline.com didn't update to reflect the UK itineraries), given the circumstances and Covid-19 restrictions. The crew were all excellent and friendly, there was so much to do and it was just fantastic to be back on a ship!
