Review summary

We had a small backdrop comparing to sailing Meraviglia a year ago. Beautifull ship, but not the "slow flow" neither "slow food" i would have expected from an Italian company. Howerer, we did choose this cruise to have maximum ports visits, and you cannot do more than 7 in 7 days!

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation in Barcelona was simple and well organised. Once onboard, a staff member take the 6 of us and explained the principal features, seating, and services. Try to sell brevage pack. However, did not explain what was the most intriguying feature: how to use escalators! :) Yes, you need to know since there is no possibility to select your destination from the inside.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We were expecting more from an Italian ship company. Nothing realy hot. Nothing realy wow. And mostly, no time to enjoy. We had at most one hour from the service of the first course till they turn on light, indicating it's time for the staff to prepare for the next group. Do not expect to have time to order some vine and begin to sip it with appetiser.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
So much to see in ports, we did not use.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
No live music on stage. Very strange meaningless titles and amalgam of dance performances. Very good dancers, but somewhat redondant.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Room steward effective and discrete. Personnel from the sercive deck well informed and effective.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Great ship!

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Would have 5 stars if more storage space. (2 drawers and 3 shelves for 2 people) my advice: use packing cubes for small and not so small items. Concerning bathroom, please note we did not have any facial tissue, even if there was place provided for. (With a cold, we needed it!)

Ship tip

Some places are difficult to reach, as the 16th floor buffet, only reachable via the aft escalators or stairs.

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

4 out of 5
Did an Rome excursion.

Cannes, France

3 out of 5
We were tendered, and know it the night before. We had rendez-vous with French friends and have nice walk on la Croisette. Easy to visit by your own, especially if you speak french :)

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

4 out of 5
We useed public transportation to go to Cathedral wich is the heart of the City. Came back walking, wich is a long way!

Barcelona, Spain

4 out of 5
Barcelona was our embarkation port; we did a 3 days stay before. Barcelona is a walkable city, even for a one day port.

Ajaccio, Corsica Did not visit port

We were advised seeing Toulon instead, the day of embarkation in Barcelona. For some technical reason as they said. Toulon was OK, principally visit its huge open air market.

Genoa, Italy

4 out of 5
Easy to visit on foot. Went there before.

La Spezia, Italy

5 out of 5
Cinque terre excursion was awsome (not for those with motion sickness however)

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
We had to change time of disembarkation since it was not compatible with taxi picking up for airport. Easy process.
