I went into the cruise with lowered expectations because of reviews especially those comparing to Royal. But as I Diamond passenger on Royal I actually think MSC is very good for the price point. The food and entertainment was better then I thought it would be. And the crew actually felt like a family which I love from Royal. So yes I would cruise MSC again.
Embarkation

We got to the Port around 9:30-10am, we were check-in and the boarding process started swiftly. Since we were Gold, my family got on with no problem and little to no lines.

Food and Dining

I see lots of people talk about how the food has little to no taste and I’d disagree. I consider myself a huge ‘foody’ and I enjoyed my food. They specialized in Italian food which we all enjoyed a lot! Now a small downside is there wasn’t much outside of the Italian or American food selection, this was fine because we were on an Italian cruise line not an American Cruise line.
(We didn’t try any specialty restaurants)
Onboard Activities

I gave 3 stars for the simple reason if your comparing this to Royal, Carnival or Norwegian there will seem like less things to do. BUT I think there is actually a reasonable amount of good things to do (ex: waterslides, kids park, Good Gym and excellent Spa, zip lines, F1/arcade and Bowling)
I will admit I didn’t try all of these activities but from the ones I did I enjoyed
Entertainment

The stage shows in the main theatre we’re really good, the singers and dancers were great! They also had one of the best comedy shows I’ve seen.
I also liked the 80’s show in the atrium and the Pirate show in the main theatre!
DJ and Latin club were awesome to dance and party to.
Service and Staff

We found the staff was up and down at times but had good experiences to make up.
Our dinner staff was amazing 10 of 10
Our room stewards helped us when we needed anything (all though people we travelled with had a few issues with water from their CPAP machines)
The Spa messed up our thermal spa free hour but felt bad and gave us a free full day experience the next day. guest services were excellent when anything happened.
Ship Quality

I can see the mixed reviews of the Design and layout. Comparing it to other cruise lines the elevator section can be a bit confusing, but honestly not that bad.
We loved the decor and the cleanliness of the ship.
Cabin / Stateroom

I honestly loved our cabin, the size and colour scheme. Yes it might be a bit smaller then Royals inside cabins but the don’t have a couch so it opens up the space a lot more.
Ship tip
I still think they are finding their way in the American market but I think within the next few years they will be one of the best up there with Royal, Celebrity and Norwegian
I actually liked this more then CoCo Cay. Yes it doesn’t have the trills of Coco Cay but it’s a beautiful island that really lets u unwind.
Also we stayed over night on the island and I might actives were amazing!!!
I will say the sand is a bit rocky in spots and the food trucks don’t have a huge selection.
Like Costa Maya we didn’t have an excursion booked so we just walked around the down town area.
I love Cozumel previously and would recommend ATV or Jeep excursions.
The was a small storm the lead us to disembark 90 minutes later then scheduled. This lead to a few people getting upset but once we docked they quickly got everyone off and caught up to the original schedule the best they could.
