Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The evening dining attendants were great. The breakfast dining experience was a disaster. I filled out a medical form ahead of the cruise. My husband called customer service to verify the form was received prior to cruising, it was verified. I have gluten and corn allergies to all products related to these two categories. The cruise line was very unprepared for dealing with food allegies. After going through allergy information three different times with staff, I gave up. Eating on-board was a nightmare. Thank God I found good food in Mexico or I would have starved. The restaurants would not let me order the fish I wanted said it would be to dry but offered chicken teriyaki. I agreed. They sent someone out during the cooking process and stated I could only have the chicken. It was so dry, I couldnt eat it. Paid $50 for a meal I couldnt eat. No accommodations provided to persons with allergies. No refund provided to the meal I was told to order on my dime and couldnt eat. On other cruise lines, I was assigned a dietitian who would show up for every meal no matter where we ate and go over all the foods and would even modify them to fit her needs. They would even make one-off deserts that I could eat! Now that was service. So the food was not good for me.

Service and Staff

The room steward was great. He made the room twice a day and was accommodating to our needs. All of the waiters we had were excellent also.

Cabin / Stateroom

The size of the cabin was normal. It was very neat and clean. But MSC does not give top sheets on their beds, only a mattress cover. You will have to ask for the other sheet. The deck size was also as big as you're going to have with a regular room. It was very nice.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

This was the nicest island to visit. It had multiple beaches which were all quite beautiful. There was food on the island (if you don't mind standing in long lines).

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

This was a great place also. We went on an excursion we had made separately from the ship. We rode in a taxi to Jamie's Beach club. Had all the food a drink we wanted all day and sat on the shore. If it wasn't for this place and their great food, my wife would have starved.

Cozumel, Mexico

We just went shopping here. It was common.

Disembarkation

As usual for disembarking there was a small wait time. But when they called our number we went right off the ship.
