Review summary

Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to enjoy a cruise with affordable drink packages, excursions and special dining options opportunities. This line is a gem with still room for improvement we loved Dave the cruise director and assistant Jose they were phenomenal. I see the need for more affordable shopping experiences to pass the time. I did not like the Pizza, and rock hard bread rolls. The ship deserved larger pools for the amount of passengers it holds. Great music and what a phenomenal atrium top notch in design and beauty. Poor stateroom design and decor. Ocean Cay is the best. We will be back

Embarkation

It was raining and they were halting entry to the building and ship because line was unorganized and the exterior staffing was so low that this MSC representative was dilibritely halting entry to the building because he was unable to manage overpopulated line to his satisfaction.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The bread rolls were hard as rock every day, I had high expectations for the Pizza but I actually thought is made me sick. The hot dogs were poor quality.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pool, The Garge Area, excellent decor, Good but no elevator to 18 and 19th floor. Pools were too small to Handle the capacity of guests, great variety of things to do.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Nice shows but stairs to tiered stage were unfinished. Looked very tacky, one of the main singers did not know the lyrics to many songs although all did have a great voices.

Children's Programs

Visited area but did not bring any children on this trip.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Own fine dining team were amazing. Cruise Directors Dave and Jose made you feel you were a close personal friend plus they were both very entertaining. Justin Perez was a great Bar tender,

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Design and layout were super and beautiful except staterooms looked dated and Dustbuster vacuum was not and is not healthy nor worth the efforts to clean what are you thinking! Zero points on this and whose lamb brain idea was this. An Oreck or Dyson’s vacuum are needed asap.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Uncomfortable flow, poor design and decor, the furnishings seemed old, dated and dusty.

Ship tip

Invest in drink package it was a great value. Bring self y stick there are no floating photographers to capture magical moments of your cruise for photo packages.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

Home base I live in Orlando

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Best island of all cruises but it needs more shops that offer more affordable practical items like magazines, headphone, pharmacutical products.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
Nice stop but way too expensive to shop making it a waste of time. Nice new public pools make it an interesting acuatical option to beat the heatwave.

Cozumel, Mexico

The sand at Playa Mia beach break was extremely dangerous it was like quick my wife and I were injured due to this hazardous situation.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
We were never explained the difference between early disembarkation and regular. So our slips highlighted the 8:15 am hour as the time for our room to disembark. We and many others were explained the differences over the air speakers during that disembarkation time the differences when I felt should have been clarified during the cruise director show speeches or state room attendants. I believe this was a major failure of communication.
