I had read the reviews about the MSC Seaside before I booked this cruise so I was well aware of the service/food issues. They were correct. I agree. But also the ship is gorgeous and had great entertainment and we had a blast. So that is one has to decide. I don’t think I will go on another MSC cruise as I missed the service and the food more than the shows.
Embarkation

Incomplete. You have to register your sail card once you board on one of the busy kiosks
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Main dining room food was the big hit or miss. Ate there 5 out of the 7 nights. 2 nights were passable 3 nights were not. No outdoor eateries or places to get non alcoholic drinks like coffee. Had to go down 10 flights to get to the buffet because the buffet on the 16 floor was rarely open.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Nice solarium , adult only pool, fun water slides, zip line, etc
Entertainment
4 out of 5
I usually walk out of these shows but I have say on this ship they were the best I had seen on the 14 cruises I have been on.
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
I think the ratio of guests to ship employees was too low. Wait times for the bar, food at the dining room, etc. there is no one walking around poolside asking if you want something from the bar. However, the people employees that do come around are pushing the ridiculously expensive specialty dining option. I didn’t meet my room steward till day 2. There is no instructions in your room to tell you how to work anything. You learn by asking other guests.
Ship Quality

While the ship was beautiful and sparkling clean most of the time, the 2 buffets would have worked better if they were open at the same time. I was constantly going to level 16 and seeing a closed sign and have to go to level 8.
Cabin / Stateroom

Nice and big. Loved it. Balcony could have used a cleaning. Bathroom had a glass shower
Ship tip
Weigh the beauty of the ship against the service and food
This place sure has cleaned up since I was here last. Rented a scooter and went over to Paradise Island and. Atlantis. Police on the corners and felt very safe. Did not feel “attacked” by people wanting to sell there wares like before. Had a blast.
