I will never take another MSC cruise it’s geared towards Europeans or Spanish people Americans definitely do not feel welcome on the ship we were treated very rude. Very boring and the food was terrible they pretty much serve you the same seven things for seven days. The last day they only served us pizza and you could tell it was the leftover stuff that they were just trying to get rid of in a hurry before the new passengers were to get on. If you’re American either go on Royal Caribbean or carnival you will have a much better experience.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
Long and extremely slow
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
They feed you the same food served in buffet in the dining room.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
The pool close early they rush you off of the pool chairs before it’s even dark. The music sucked unless you like techno, soft rock or Spanish music.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
A few of the performers sang well but again it was only geared towards Spanish music.
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
The cabin steward was very good but all of the serving staff walked right past you act like they couldn’t understand you and the last day on the ship they ignored us.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship was very clean and well-maintained
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
There was mold in the shower and one of the days we came back from an excursion and there was a sign on our balcony door telling us there was a wet paint not to go out there and considering how much we paid to have the balcony I feel like we should be able to use it whenever we wanted to.
Ship tip
If you were American do not cruise on the ship you will not like it!
We took an excursion in this port and it was all Spanish-speaking so we had a hard time interpreting our surroundings and the whole island was still suffering devastation from hurricane Irma
I'm an american and have done 3 MSC cruises and leaving for my 4th in less than a month. They do NOT treat american poorly! They treat you like you treat them.so quit being rude and thinking you're better than them. They treat you very well if you are kind to them. Sounds like you just need to stay in America because you can't stand other cultures. You do realize a cruise takes you to other countries and they might not speak English, right? I thought that was extremely obvious, but apparently not to you. Did you not look up the cruise ship to see it's a European line before you cruised? If not, that's your own fault. Yes there are lots or non-Americans on board but get over it! Believe it of not, theres a great big world out there where people like to travel. Oh my gosh, can you believe it?! I'm from the south and think lots of americans are extremely rude that arent from the south. So that fact you pool the rest of the world into the same bubble as rude is commical to me. Don't like other humans that arent from your place of comfort? Stay home! Everyone needs something to complain about in America, today. Moral of my rant, if you're not ok with other cultures, DONT VISIT OTHER CULTURES!
I am European and dont consider myself rude. I stand in queues like everyone else, and I am pleasant to people. I take offence when you say dont go on this because it is full of europeans. Europe is made up of many countries and many different cultures so it is wrong to think of us all as one. I am going on the seaside in two weeks time and I am sure I will have a great time. Whilst on holiday I dont go around looking for problems. No time for that. Relax and dont be so critical of others, life is far to short.
If you don’t like other nationalities, then I think you should stay at home.
I honestely don’t know why some people seems to be afraid of non-americans.
I was on the cruise a the week before and had an amazing time. I met a few rude people - and they were not Europeans (besides - Europe are a mix of different countries, with different cultures - so just because you meet one rude Europeans does not mean that every European is rude. Try to be open-minded - it does not hurt and you might meet some great people from around the world.
Oh gosh heaven forbid there should still be a bit of mess after a hurricane! I can't believe they didn't clean it up in time for your arrival. And if you don't like anything else other than America...maybe don't venture elsewhere in future
Was on seaside great cruise disagree with negative comments. No matter what you encounter just overlook and be thankful your on a cruise life is to short
I disagree with most everything you are saying! I have sailed MSC and I am going again in Feb. This is a European company and different than most, but the food and service are of the standard of most all cruiselines. I find that the majority of people that think everyone is rude, are usually the ones that have an attitude that they should be waited on like royalty and when you are not you think it's rude! Maybe change the way you treat other people and they will respond in kind! Just sayin' !
As an American and having sent MANY American clients on MSC I have to disagree with your opinion. Of course you’re right to have it but with the full complaints of this review it’s hard to take it seriously. You’re right on one part though, if you’re not good with change or exploring the world around you then stick to the American aimed lines like Royal and Carnival. Royals expensive pricing and carnivals aging ships will sure give you the vacation you’re looking for.
The port arrival and departure times were probably well known before you booked. It didn’t look like anything was to your liking. Maybe another type of vacation would be more to your liking
