MSC Seaside

7 Night Eastern Caribbean & Bahamas (Miami Roundtrip)

Sail date: September 15, 2018

Ship: MSC Seaside

Cabin type: Balcony

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

The staff needs more training and how to interact with people. Out of stock on even Diet Coke, wines and beers. Very difficult to get waited on. Food was not good except at Specialty Restaurants that you paid for and pricey. Cabin person terrible didn’t even meet him for a day and a half. Cater to Europeans not Americans. Rushed at dinner. Would not recommend this cruise line. No one’s first language is English and they don’t appear to like you or their job. However, met 3 outstanding people that were very helpful. Charge you $25/day for tips, really ? For what? Paid the upcharge for a balcony and it was metal so you could not see out.... what? Never said anything on our paperwork regarding this. Watch out everything is an upcharge .... No more cruises on MSC !!! Really need people skills. P.s. shows were all the same group of dancers and singers. No ‘real’ professional shows or professional comics.

Ship tip

Don’t buy the upgrade drink card because they are constantly out and terribly difficult to get a drink due to staff so you will never spend it all

I suspect sometimes, and maybe it’s just me, that some people are paid to write bad reviews.

Nobody’s first language is English ? Really ? What planet do you come from ?

I've rebooked the Seaside. I love this cruise line. It's not perfect but neither are the others.but the vibe from this line was so relaxing. You make what you wish of your vacation

We were on seaside a couple weeks ago and had a GREAT cruise.

You should have stayed home what a crazy review was just on same ship 4 weeks ago plenty of drinks excellent food no rush and shows are some of the best I’ve seen on my 50 cruises. I don’t know what ship you were on but cruising must not be for you FYI I’m 100% American born and raised here!

Anything you forgot to moan about ?

Kpellapatrick: that is my thought exactly and agree that if we are not at work then it is already a great start.

Some people are just very hard to please this is one persons opinion and we will be cruising the Seaside in February and we already know it will be different because it’s an Italian cruise line - we want the different experience, if we don’t like it then next time we will cruise another line but it will be all of what we make it and my husband and I figure as long as there’s food, drinks and sun and we aren’t at work for a week were good!

The balcony side walls are metal but if you have adjoining rooms they can be folded open, so you have one shared deck. Gratuities are per person just like any cruise line. They charge $12.50 per day per person which is actually cheaper then most cruise lines. All cruise only have one group of performers for the stage shows and most cruises you get 2 or 3 different shows. MSC you get a different show every night. I have been on 7 cruises and a don't think any staff on any of them had crew members that spoke English as their first language

So you had a metal wall blocking your view from Balcony? Just out of curiosity, How is it Europeans are catered for but not Americans? Cruised on four different cruise lines and on all lines the majority of Staff do not have English as a first language. Board a RC cruise and first thing they do is try sell you a drinks Package and speciality dining, so how it differs here?

What do you mean the balcony was metal and you couldn't see out?
