Review summary

Very European clientele. Lots of different languages being heard and too many speedos seen. Not bad, just different. All announcements were made in three to four languages. Again not bad just different. This was only my second cruise My kids had a great time, which for this trip was the most important. We will be sailing on a Norwegian Cruise next year and be able to compare.

Embarkation

We had the Aurea experience, therefore it was really quick

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Buffet was good not great. Kids loved it. There is an inconvenient process to get a soda. Dining room food was okay. Nothing really good. Kids liked it. All soda and water was bottled or canned. It was ok but different. Tepanyaki was fantastic! Great food and cook. Kids loved it! One of the highlights on the ship.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Water slides were great. Kids loved them and spent a lot of time on them. The foosball and ping pong tables were fun as well.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Stage shows were a little weird, but very entertaining! Good singers and acrobatics. Our whole family was very entertained and the kids wanted to go to every show. Cruise staff was great! Andre was very entertaining and they were very well organized and energetic during their activities.

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
My teens went to the teen area the first night and never went back. My 9 and 10 year old only spent an hour or two in their area. It was really crowded and they just wanted to be on the slides and with there siblings.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Dining room staff was ok. Friendly, but quiet and a little difficult to understand. Bar tenders were fine. Not rude but we never received excellent service. Just ok. Room steward was nice. Left us without beach towels once. Overall he was probably the best service we had. The lady helping us at the Service desk actually turned from me to talk with a colleague about another problem while I was talking. Again she solved our problem but was not very friendly.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Absolutely beautiful ship! Clean nice modern designs. The functionality was the only reason this gets 4 as apposed to 5 stars. There are rear elevators but no stairs. The middle elevators were the only elevators to get you to the water park, kids area and sports court. They were very busy no matter the time.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
We loved the extended deck! The highlight of our room. We could lay out without having to fight for a deck chair. The toilet was placed in a way that anyone taller than 5-8 would have to sit at an angle to do their business. Not the worst thing but poor design. The closet was blocked by the sofa. There was enough space, just partially blocked.

Ship tip

be patient. Any concerns we had were resolved but it might be frustrating.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Beautiful city and beach. We went on an Everglades tour and had a lot of fun.

St. John's, Antigua

Port was a little run down. We went to swim with stingrays. It was awesome! Kids loved it! We will never forget it!

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5
We hired a cab for the day, our driver was definitely memorable, in a funny way. He was quite a character. He kept saying he had been in “Weekend at Bernie’s 2” funny guy. Traffic was a little crazy and the roads were bumpy. The beach we finally arrived at was beautiful. The port area was nice and clean but very crowded.

Disembarkation

Fast and easy

Depending on the itineraries.. NCL draws a very diverse clientele. Americans aren't the only ones who like to cruise

OMG the speedos....they should really retire the Speedo. 😝

It is a little different. I believe because it's an Italian line that it draws the multi national clientele.

Bummed to hear that. We went on MSC poesia when it first started sailing out of Florida almost 10 years ago and we had the same experience and never went back to that line. I was hoping with this new ship it was supposed to be geared towards full-time Caribbean sailing for both Europeans and American clientele. I didn't like the ala cart aspect when I research taking the seaside did you mind it?
