Review summary

This was a nice back to back on MSC Seashore. Let's be honest, we don't go to the Caribbean for culture or sightseeing; we go for the beaches and the beautiful waters. We also enjoy relaxing on sea days. This itinerary was great. And so was the weather. This was just the 2 of us on this trip, but we still made some new friends. Charlotte Amalie was the disappointment on this trip. Even with a longer day, we would have had to do a taxi to get somewhere nice. This ship and amenities are great, the cabin wonderful, the food and the crew is excellent. The one sore point was the awkward off-then-on that you must do at Miami on the turnaround day of the b2b. I recommend MSC for Caribbean. We've sailed them a few times on different itineraries there.

Onboard Activities

Pools and fitness center were great. Not too busy, so always easy to access. Waterslides and putt-putt, too!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Theater was just ok -- on the small side. We did enjoy the comedy club venue.

Ship Quality

Always clean. Newer ship. Enjoyed the aft pool and hot tub area. Not too crowded

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Comfortable, roomy cabin. Steward was invisible, but attentive -- just how you want it.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
We enjoy Miami, esp South Beach, but were there for just the overnight this time.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Having been there before, I had low expectations -- access and cleanliness of beaches? -- and was not upset that we were just a evening/night visit. BUT Wow, old San Juan was entirely different as the sun goes down... absolutely great for a walk around and couple of drinks.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

2 out of 5
Pretty lame port, even for walking. St Thomas proper is much different. I had caught a light cold and we trekked out to find some nasal spray. Grabbed some ice cream and sweated in the afternoon heat.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

4 out of 5
We stuck to the in-port resort area. Loud music, lounge chairs, huge pool, a drink and my book. Not sure about prices, but my wife found some Larimar jewelry she loved.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Having been there a few times, I really do enjoy Ocean Key. Rent an umbrella and plop on the beach.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

3 out of 5
Not a fan of Jamaica. Ocho Rios is the best of the bunch, but still always feel like I'm on alert. We usually spend a few hours at the local port beach before or after venturing into town.

George Town, Grand Cayman
