We had a great time on this beautiful ship with a great staff and incredible entertainment. Was it perfect- no. No cruise is perfect. But we look for the good and don’t hope for or dwell on the negative. We will definitely sail on MSC again.
Embarkation

Very smooth and organized. 40 minutes from time pulled into Port until I was enjoying my balcony.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Buffet was decent. Food was never hot enough. Best pizza at sea. Had every breakfast item you could think of everyday. Lunch was a lot of sane food, do need to mix it up a bit. The design flaw in the buffet is that there is just one big line (actually 3 but the circle the same things). They need to change to smaller groupings - salad bar, desserts, savory. This would allow you to grab what you want easier than waiting so long. You can get pizza all day and into the night but only there. Not a big deal but it would be nice to have it available at another location as well. Ice cream should be available more frequently as well. Main dining room was very beautiful and great staff. Good choices and a nice variety most nights. The sugar free desserts were always good.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Lots of trivia and name that tune. Lots of music in the atrium. Several activities each day. We enjoyed them. The jungle pool is a nice place to unwind. The pool is great as well as the hot tubs. Other “hot” tubs should be renamed Cold Tubs - not sure what was wrong but that does need addressed.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
I can’t say enough about the crew at the Madison Theater. So incredibly talented and gifted. Each night was a total success. Singing and dancing. The comedy night with Mighty Quinn was hysterical. He even did an extra show on Sunday because was disembarked late due to the storm. The Brooklyn Cafe had a very talented jazz singer. All the performers in the atrium were amazing. Last time we were on the Seashore the Cabaret had the better atmosphere and entertainment but this time they were a side place. The performers we saw were very talented but the shows seemed to be similar each night. One GIGANTIC problem was the dueling pianos in Time Square. Both could play the pisnt beautifully but neither could sing. It was hard to hear. This needs addressed immediately.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Room steward was excellent. We told him we liked to have ice in our room all day and he made sure we did. Our room was spotless when we got there and was kept clean all week. Our waitstaff was incredible as well. They remember from night to night the small things that make us happy. Worked so hard to make our dinner an event each and every night. The ship was being cleaned constantly and all the workers were very friendly. The buffet staff worked hard to make sure we had everything we needed as well.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship is gorgeous and has held up well. We were on her 2 years ago when she was brand new and she still looks amazing. We noticed a few things of normal wear and tear that will be getting fixed soon I’m sure but what do you expect. But overall the ship was spotless and extremely well-maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Overall great cabin. Comfortable and roomy couch. Bed was very comfortable as well. Plenty of storage space and charging stations available. But as always the bathroom is too small. I’m 6 ft tall and a chunky fellow. The shower was big enough but tight but the toilet area was incredibly tight. Not sure what my 6’6” best friend would do to be honest. lol
Ship tip
Enjoy. Every cruise line has its own unique experience. MSC is a great cruise line.
Pick up some local vanilla while in port. Delicious!! Lots to do. Dolphins and flamingos. Massages on the beach available - grab a taxi and enjoy a drink and beautiful beach.
The Lagoon is always calm waters. If you enjoy snorkeling or just swimming I’d recommend the Lagoon beach. It’s near the food and the bathroom. Such a beautiful place to relax.
We disembarked late due to the storm. But overall the process went well. The asked for us not to go to deck six so they could prepare for disembarkation. But as you know self entitlement runs rampant on a cruise ship. They had to keep announcing to please stop coming and to stop blocking the stair wells. But when they announced we could begin heading down - we slowing made our way down the crowded stairs to deck six. We had a long but fast walk around the deck to get off the ship. They had water and sandwiches set up. We went thru the entire process in approximately 40 minutes. No complaints.
