Don't waste your time or money on MSC. It appears that they take you the places where they want to garner additional revenues.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
I could not rate below 1 star. Initially, one of us had a 10:30 AM embarkation time, while the other had 5PM. They shifted us both to 12PM with 4,000 others You are then herded like cattle into pens and wait...only after standing outside in the MIA heat until 12:30 to begin the process. Took in excess of two hours to complete.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Average food in the MDR. If you want better, you are expected to pay for food in the "premium" restaurants. For an Italian line, they should be better at preparing Italian food. Bait and switch on the food. The menu calls for one thing...then they substitute substandard products thinking that the customers are ignorant.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
If you want an amusement park and water park, it's fine. This is on us. We'd not expected it to be all driven to those under 12 with video games, water slides, etc.
Entertainment

Excellent singers. Had not expected a trans in the dance group who looked like a clown with his lipstick smeared all over his mouth.
Service and Staff

Here they excel. Those on the vessel were professionals and attempted to help as best they could even explain that while the drink package including coffee is honored in the bars, it is not included in the other areas. Still makes no sense to me, but they tried.
They need to be better educated such that they could answer questions with correct info. On numerous occasions we were given one answer. Upon finding it was in error, we asked again. There we would receive a second erroneous answer. Finally, we'd figure it out ourselves. They were trying.
Yacht Club butlers would get priority when ordering drinks. Often would take 15 min to order and get served, standing at bar.
The fancy wrist band is worthless. Most areas onboard require you to walk around to get to the register to scan. Many do not have hand scanners. Often malfunctioned opening cabin door.
Ship Quality

It's fine. Clean and our cabin steward was wonderful. We thought the interior was garish. They are really proud of their stairs.
Cabin / Stateroom

Sort of like a storage container. Long and skinny. Nice balcony. If you are large do not try to shower. I'm fine at 5'10" 190. But if you are much larger, you will get stuck in shower.
Closet doors do not open easily.
Ship docks after 5PM. It is dark. They want you to go out to the shops which provide revenue to the ship line. Cannot go to see the city. Everything is closed other than night clubs.
Cannot go outside the fence without a tour. We wanted to explore the city by foot. Not far away. However, the port area is surrounded by razor ribbon (the international symbol of do not cross).
