Review summary

Overall a great trip experience. The crew were all very helpful and friendly. Better signage in the embarking and disembarking areas would be helpful. Overall good value and the ship was great.

Embarkation

There was some unnecessary trauma and our arrival party of 10 was split over 2 cars and a train. Half the party was trapped upstairs without paperwork and the other downstairs with all the tickets and paperwork. It was a nightmare to link everyone back together and my son (driver of the 2nd car) left in frustration.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

The buffet was always very busy and difficult to get a table of 2 nevermind more. The dinner dining room made up for everything with superb service and some really great menus

Ports of call

Genoa, Italy Did not visit port

Malaga, Spain

Casablanca, Morocco

The shuttle bus driver stopped the bus and disappeared after driving us out of the port area. He spoke to a policman and then went off on the back of a scooter to return 40 minutes later to sweating passengers. The bus was in really poor condition - no aircon and a brake warning (stop driving) on the dashboard digital display. Casablanca is run down and shows its age in a nasty way. An hour round trip in a bus in a poor state to get to the last stop after 1.5 hours (Grand Bazaar) which is actually close to the port entrance.

Lisbon, Portugal

Nice easy walk from the ships berth.

Barcelona, Spain

Very very busy along Las Rambles. Returned by taxi rather than the shuttle which stopped further away

Marseille (Provence), France

3 out of 5
Harbour area is really chopped up and run down. The shuttle drops you a fair walk away from the town with little input of which direction to head off to. Town is interesting but less interesting on a Sunday where most of it was closed except for restaurants
