Review summary

Before we left, I read lots of reviews about MSC, so we didn’t expect a typical cruise experience. The price was right, the ports were great and the food was fine. The most enjoyable part of being on the ship was the opportunity to practice my French chatting with Europeans on holiday. Adjust your expectations for MSC and you’ll have a good time.

Off the boat first thing in the morning and a 9pm seating time, so we only used the buffet. Great salads and fresh fruit. Lots of pride in good Italian cheeses and deli meat. Pizza was sadly American with a soft crust. Mains and desserts were not great, not terrible. Relentlessly okay.

Spring for the sauna and hot tub package. Totally worth it after a long day walking.
