Review summary

Loved the cruise! Best parts were days at sea - 2 full days which made it relaxing. Would not return to the Greek islands - but would enjoy seeing more of the cities along Croatia & also wish the cruise would stop along the Albania Riviera. Do a suite if at all possible - very nice & spacious & lovely balcony! Staff all very nice & helpful!

Embarkation

A little confusing at first. Luggage was supposed to be able to be left at the Santa Lucia train station - hard to find the place - When did he told us the driver wasn't working that day. So we needed to drag our lluggage quite a ways in Venice to the Square & pay for taking it over the big stairs.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Great - we enjoyed the buffet most of the time with beautiful views & good food. Sit down restaurants nice for once in awhile, but noisy. Would have been nice to have ethnic food nights with a theme related to areas we were visiting.

Onboard Activities

Pools of course very busy & noisy - especially on sea days. We enjoyed our balcony & the Blue Club Disco room with comfortable seats & big windows. Also enjoyed the Broadway theatre shows.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Enjoyed the shows -- seemed like a lot of repeat though - singing & dancing. Would have enjoyed a Broadway musicale or play as well.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service was superb - The room stewards were always available & tried to go into our rooms to freshen it when we were gone to meals or on excursions. Very friendly as was all of the staff all over the ship - patient & helpful!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Very clean - I liked that there weren't too many shops - They were there if you wanted them, but not a whole big area. Wish there was a larger pool - basically quite small. Also some times dedicated to lap swimming - maybe in the mornings.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a suite in a great location! We were on the 10th floor, around the corner from the elevator - & no rooms across on our whole hall. Just one deck up was the buffet & pool. Our rooms were very quiet & spacious with a lovely deck. The storage was great - a large walk-in closet & with drawers so could totally unpack & put suitcases under the bed. Also 2 other tall closets with shelves. We had 3 in our room & had plenty of space.

Ship tip

Bring some nicer clothes for evening - not necessarily fancy but going out to dinner clothes - to make evenings an "event"

Ports of call

Venice, Italy

No excursion since we began & ended here. One of our best experience here was the night before the cruise when we stayed near Santa Lucia train station & had a very special dinner near the canals - & after the cruise we had lunch near St Mark's Square at a wonderful rooftop cafe - look up for yellow umbrellas - lovely spot!

Kotor, Montenegro

We did not do an excursion since our daughter had stayed here before. Walked down the tree lined path from the castle & had lunch at a lovely outdoor vine-covered cafe along the water. The castle was very interesting as well.

Mykonos, Greece

Did an excursion & had a great tour guide but the island was hot, windy & rocky - not beautiful. We had the most time here & was the least enjoyable place.

Santorini, Greece

We did a bus excursion here. Interesting taking the switchbacks up the rocky cliff but again the island is rocky & bare & very hot. The white homes & bougainvillea are beautiful. I think going to Oia would be best & if interested in beaches doing that.

Ancona, Italy

We did a wonderful excursion here! It was a bus excursion through the mountains outside of town & was absolutely beautiful! Had nice free time in a little town overlooking the sea. This by far was the best port & had the shortest time.

Disembarkation

Very easy - bags easy to find in the terminal - fast security check out. Took the shuttle to Mestre train station. Had made a reservation at Plaza Hotel for the night & it was almost right across the street. Very easy & nice.
