We had a good cruise even with the things that went wrong. MSC just isn’t in the same league as Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Celebrity, Holland American and NCL. MSC has a lot to learn from these other cruise lines that know how to help you have a wonderful experience by treating you special.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
We stood in line for hours and didn’t get on the ship until after 10pm. They should have brought us bottles of water and food. They didn’t tell us what the hold up was, even after asking several people.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The food was hit and miss with some things being really delicious, but most food was bland.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
There wasn’t anything going on between 8-10 pm.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Shows were great but too short. They were only 35 minutes long.
Children's Programs
No children
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Our service was good, but not everyone is friendly.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship is beautiful. They could use more bathroom stalls in public places. One bathroom stall for the entire buffet area is ridiculous!
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The balcony stateroom was nice but the bed was too hard. The bathroom was nice. I recommend bringing more hangers.
Ship tip
Lower your expectations. MSC doesn’t treat you as well as other cruise lines.
This is for the OP and anyone else traveling by cruise ship, bus, airplane, car, train or whatever...who are not travel savvy...when they leave the comfort of their home without emergency items that can make your journey safe and healthy. From basic medical supplies to water, electrolyte powder, sugar pills, beef jerky (or vegan options)etc. You can't expect someone else to attend to your needs. Even airplanes run out of water and have passengers sitting on the tarmac for hours on end. If you're a diabetic for instance you're on your own, so bring emergency supplies no matter where you go. And you can bring your own individual water bottles (not a full cases in most situations on a cruise ship).
We were getting off this ship when you were getting on. The reason it was late to leave was the weather. We were 4 hours late getting off the ship so of course you were going to be late getting on. I can't believe nobody told you that as we saw it reported on the news and also when we were getting off they had signs telling you when you arrived it would be a late departure.
We love MSC. GO ahead to the other expensive cruise lines U know these are close to half as much and they are lovely ships. Lovely crew. It’s all in the attitude. Go stay at a resort. And fly to these islands and eat 3 meals a day
