Review summary

Overall our first experience with MSC was a positive. I did experience some sinus issues the last two days of the duties and upon returning home did test twice for Covid just to make sure I wasn’t sick. First test on Monday came back negative, second test on Tuesday came back positive. I was having more body aches by that point so I knew something more was going on. I had been vaccinated and boosted. Hoping the rest of my crew can escape this but for now I will quarantine and write reviews of our cruise

Embarkation

So easy and quick. Everyone in the port and the ship was so professional and answered all my questions.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Overall everything was delicious! From the Buffett to the main dining room. Our family did not dine at the specialty restaurants. The dining in the main dining room had plenty of choices and sometimes were hard to decide which to get.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the shows, comedians, magicians and entertainment/dance shows.

Entertainment

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
My kids 15 and 13 did meet a few kids their age and were able to enjoy hanging out and participating in the clubs and activities

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff is so well trained. You can tell in everything they do. From our room steward Bagus to the shops and bars service men and women all were so polite.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was clean and always had a spotless presence. Our floor had some toilet issues that emitted a smell for a few days but nothing that was to overpowering and didn’t get resolved by weeks end.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
For four of us in our family having the balcony made it nice because we felt like we could stretch out more. The kids had to share the fold out couch/bed but did so with ease. We just folded it up in the morning to give ourselves that extra floor space. For a 7 day cruise I think we packed sufficiently and did not require laundry services.

Ship tip

If you take lots of photos or should I say have a lot of photos taken the best deal is the digital package. That way you can print what you want, what size you want when you want.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Did not book an excursion but was recommended to go to Mr. Sanchos. It is an all inclusive beach location about 15 minutes from port. $18.00 cab ride. All inclusive as in food, drinks, beach, pools, clean restroom and shower facilities, aqua park for kids. Well worth it and enjoyed every minute.

Port Canaveral, Florida

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

Beautiful! Could have stayed here all week!!

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
Did not do excursions but decided to just enjoy port shopping, swimming pool and beach area.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Our family did the early debarkation and the process was smooth and did not take very long. Once we got off the ship and thru the port/customs we were at our car by 7:15.
