Review summary

Overall, this was an excellent cruise. The ship is great, well-maintained and has lots to do on-board! the itinerary was also excellent.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation was fairly quick. We dropped our bags off with ease in the terminal and proceeded to the check-in area where we had to wait around 20-30 minutes to be called to embark.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
There was a very good range of food in the buffet. The main dining room was ok, sometimes very good, other times not so much. Butcher's cut was excellent and I highly recommend it!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There were loads of fun activities. The waterslide, F1 simulator and XD cinema were all great as well as the activities and deck parties run by the animation team.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
There was lots of music all around the ship, the main stage shows were excellent every night.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All the crew were excellent. Particular mention must go to Gean Barboza, who was Head of Amusement. He did a great job, was very kind and super friendly!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Overall, we loved the ship, it was great - modern and well maintained with lots of facilities. However, we did notice that the areas around the atrium became quite crowded in the evening.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our balcony cabin was fantastic. It was very large, well-designed and had plenty of storage space.

Ports of call

Marseille (Provence), France

5 out of 5
Marseille is very nice, with lots to do around the old port area.

Genoa, Italy

5 out of 5
In Genoa we did a walking tour around the city. It was very interesting, but very hot!

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
In Civitavecchia we visited the ancient Roman baths located near the port (approx. 10 minutes by taxi). It was interesting and enjoyable.

Palermo, Sicily

4 out of 5
Palermo was nice with lots to see. However it was very crowded in the main market area. Also, our shore excursion involved lots of walking which was very challenging given the extreme heat - but obviously this wouldn't be a problem at other times of year.

Cagliari, Sardinia

5 out of 5
In Cagliari we just walked around by ourselves. It is a nice town that is easy to get around and has plenty to see.

Valencia, Spain

5 out of 5
In Valencia, we did a shore excursion that included a stop at the city of arts and sciences to see its spectacular architecture and a walking tour of the town. It was excellent.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was very simple. There was no waiting and we just walked off the ship when our colour was called.
