The Divina is a beautiful ship. With all the expansion MSC is doing, it seems to us that they are spending more time and money on the newer ships and pushing the older fleet to the wayside. This was the worst of 10 voyages on the Divina, and although the staff does an excellent job on keeping her looking beautiful, her age is showing and she is due for some much needed repairs and upgrades.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
Terrible! Absolute fiasco.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Breakfast in the Black Crab was totally messed up. Terrible service and we ended up going to the buffet to avoid the chaos.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Pools are nice, but chair hogs ruin it. 30 minute rule is not enforced.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The shows at best are decent. Although the singers are good, some of the songs chosen are not well suited for their vocal range and they come out sounding strained and screechy.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Overall, the staff works very hard to give the passengers a wonderful time. There are many areas that need to be improved. Breakfast in the Black Crab has consistently been a work in progress, but doesn't seem to improve much. They need more training on being consistent and expedient when sailing in America. Example: When 3 people are sitting at a table and one asks for more coffee, the waiter should ask the whole table if they want coffee... rather than fill one cup and walk away, leaving the two remaining cups less than halfway full.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The cleaning staff works very hard at keeping the ship clean and based on the lack of care with a lot of the passengers, it is a full time job.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Cabin was a nice size with plenty of storage. Balcony was nice. Cabin steward kept the room very clean.
Ship tip
Keep in mind MSC advertises "european" or "mediterranean" style cruising. Not your typical "caribbean" style.
