Senior staff are appalling. They pretend not to speak English. We have never encountered such rudeness from Europeans onboard - everyone british, American and Canadian agreed. Even a member of the crew said the same. We had over 1000 children on our ship😱
Embarkation

As soon as we stepped on board we realised we had been hoodwinked into buying preboardi g packages which were cheaper onboard
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Average food and buffet was a dangerous rugby scrum
Onboard Activities

Spin bikes were in all the advertising for the gym - reality is they remove the seats, you are forced to pay 11 euros for a class and that gets cancelled because they don’t have enough people onboard at 11am!
Entertainment

Same old and embarrassing at times

Room attendant and most crew at bars and dining were ok. Just hope you don’t need to speak with anyone in authority - they sneered and laughed in our faces when we confronted them about issues and lied to us
Ship Quality

Furniture in room was stained and shabby, only so much you can do to make it look clean
Cabin / Stateroom

Below the pool and the noise was horrific day and night. We think the sun beds were blowing about at night and during the day it was a constant stampede above us
I do not understand the distain that some people have for people from europe. I am of european descent, and have spent lots of time in various european countries. Yes, europe and europeans are different from north americans, but dont see how you can group them all as rude. Cant we all just try to get along, an embrace cultural differences.?
Okay then......
I've been on the Divina twice and have booked a November, 2018 cruise on this ship as well. My experience(s) were (thankfully) unlike yours. I do agree that the food is average at best, but I have never expected food to be that of a 4 or 5 star restaurant on any cruise ship. They're "pumping out" thousands of meals simultaneously. I look at it this way, I've paid for a cruise (my hotel), some entertainment and ability to see some interesting cities. The food is thrown in (good or bad....sure we all want it to be good, but the practicality of it is that mass production will usually be average at best) and we get the opportunity to meet new people and form friendships. Regarding the rudeness of the crew, sure it exists, but some of it might (and I say "might") be due to the inability of that particular crew member's inability to understand you. Yeah, I know, sometimes it's just a crappy cruise.....so what do you do??!! You.ve paid for it, you/re not getting your dough back!....so I guess you've just got to try to make lemonade outta those damn lemons. Oh, yeah, and complain (it's your RIGHT!).....not just to the crew on the ship (who might just be turning a deaf ear to you, but also complain to the parent company. With that being said, I am sorry that you had a less than pleasant experience on your cruise.
We’re seniors and we cruised the Caribean on Divina , people have to realize more than half the passengers are foriegn , the food has a European flair , and we saw some rudeness but were from Chicago , so you really have to get rude for me to get upset , we enjoyed it so much we’ve booked Seaside , for our next cruise , same 8 seniors going back,
Oh that’s a shame. 😱 I sailed with the Divina out of Miami. It was a pleasant trip and a nice mixture of a lot of different people. As a European I can assure you that this rude behavior is not common. Maybe try a Northern European itinerary next time. Maybe a more relaxing crowd compared to what you encountered.
We have never witnessed such rudeness from holiday makers in our entire lives. Even my comments on this are being removed. Everyone we spoke with were equally aghast and had never witnessed behaviour in masses like this. If you had fallen when they were pushing you to get on/off ship or onto coaches they would have trampled you!
