Review summary

THE CRUISES WAS NICE BUT I WOULD REALLY THINK CAREFULLY ABOUT TAKING A CRUISE ON MSC AGAIN. I HAD A COUGH FROM DAY 4 OR 5 FROM MIAMI AND IT KEPT GETTING WORST. BY THE TIME I GOT TO GENOA I HAD A FEVER AND TOOK ANTIBIOTICS AFTER I GOT OFF THE SHIP. aS I AM WRITING THIS SUMMARY I AM MUCH BETTER. DOES THE AIR CONDITIONING ON BOARD THE SHIP CONTIBUTE TO THIS PROBLEM???

Embarkation

4 out of 5
NO PROBLEMS GETTING ABOARD THE SHIP AT 3:45 P.M.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
THE FOOD WAS ALL RIGHT BUT NOT GREAT. THE BREAKFAST IN THE MAIN DINING ROOM WAS VERY GOOD IN THE MORNING BUT BREAKFAST ON DECK 14 WAS EXTREMELY UNORGANIZATED AND DIFFICULT TO FIND A SEAT ON MANY OCCASSIONS.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
THE GYM WAS VERY GOOD. I USED THE GYM 6-8 TIMES DURING THE CRUISE AND THE EQUIPMENT WORKED WELL AND I GOT A GOOD WORKOUT. I DID TRY SWIMMING ONCE ON THE CRUISE (AT THE AZORES). THE OUTSIDE POOL PLACARD INDICATED 79° F. AND WHEN I GOT INTO THE POOL THE WATEWR TEMPERTURE WAS MORE THAN 70° F. (I NORMALLY SWIM 4-5 TIMES PER WEEK AT A POOL THAT HAS A TEMPERATURE OF 80° F.) i DID SWIM FOR 15-20 MINUTES AND HAD TO GET OUT BECAUSE I WAS TOO CHILLED. i WENT INTO THE HOT TUB FOR ANOTHER 15 MINUTES TO WARM UP MY BODY TEMPERATURE. i WISH THE SHIP HAD A LECTURER ABOARD THAT COULD HAVE GIVEN TALKS REGARDING NAVIGATORS OF THE ALTANTIC, HOW MADERIA BECAME A ISLAND AND THE ENDEMIC PLANTS, PORTUGAL AND THE EXPLORERS TO THE FAR EAST. ETC. ETC. THERE COULD HAVE BEEN AT LEAST 8-9 TALKS THAT WOLUDL HAVE ATTRACHED MANY PASSENAGERS.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
TWO OR THREE OF THE SHOWS WERE VERY GOOD BUT THE OTHERS WERE FAIR.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
THE STAFF WORKED EXTREMELY HARD AND KEPT THE SHIP WELL MAINTAINED.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
THE SHIP LAYOUT AND DESIGN WAS NICE BUT THE DINING EXPERIENCE AT THE BUFFETS WAS NOT PLEASANT. THERE WERE TOO MANY PEOPLE TO THE AMOUNT OF SPACE AVAILABLE, THE AREA WAS EXTREMELY NOISY AND FOOF SHORTAGES WAS A PROBLEM SOME TIMES.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
THE ROOM STERWART WAS VERY GOOD AND THE ROOM ITSELF WAS SPACOIUS, QUIET AND WELL MAINTAINED.

Ship tip

THE SHIP AND STAFF WERE FRIENDLY, NICE ANFD HELDFUL. THE SHIP NICKEL AND DIMES YOU TO DEATH WITH ALL THE ADDED 15 PERCENT CHARGES AND INFLATED PRICES FOR DRINKS AND WINE.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
VERY UNORGANIZED. I KNOW THAT THE PORT HAS PROBLEMS WITH PIERS BUT THE LUGGAGE WAS DONE POORLY. I HAD TO LOOK FOR 45 MINUTES FOR THE FINAL PIECE OF LUGGAGE THAT WAS AT THE OPPOSIDE END OF THE TERMINAL ALL BY ITSELF. THE ONLY REASON I FOUND IT WAS WAS THE GRREN STRAP THAT WAS ATTACHED TO THE BAG.. I WAS NOT THE ONLY PERSON THAT LOST THEIR LUGGAGE. TWO OF OUR TABLE MATES ALSO HAD LOST LUGGAGE.
