Fantastic Cruise by marykclive

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My husband and I took my daughter and her boyfriend on this cruise. It was our first time in a suite on a Royal Caribbean ship, and we were not disappointed! We loved the updates to the ship and everything it had to offer! The food in the Windjammer was fantastic as always! We had a ball! Great memories were made on this cruise!

Mediocre by aoverbay

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This is my opinion. Please don’t crucify me for having an opinion :) 4 night Mariner of the Seas leaving Miami. We started with a mess waiting for the RC shuttle at the airport. It was disorganized and we had to wait a while standing room only. Won’t do RC shuttles again. We got through check in quickly and efficiently. I was pleasantly surprised. My only other cruise was on Oasis and it took forever! Our room was ready right at 1. We had connecting balcony rooms on 7th floor. They were clean and comfy. Had lots of storage and our room steward Michael was great! We loved his towel animals. Food was mediocre at best. Was not that impressed with any meal at any location. The evening service in MDR was great. Really liked our waiter and assistant waiter. Breakfast in MDR was another story. Never got my drink, took almost an hour to get food. Food was like warm. Service in WJ was non existent. Entertainment was good but because the ship was at capacity we didn’t get to do a lot of activities. My daughter couldn’t get a hula hoop on Sea days for the competition and we were there 15 mins early. Same for Harry Potter Trivia. Couldn’t play because already full 20 mins early. Pool chairs were not to be found on any deck on sea days. Pictures below. My son enjoyed the teen room and daughter enjoyed the arcade. Sky pad was cool. Hubby and son did escape room. Said it’s the hardest one they’ve done yet. It they escaped. There were 2 elevators on each side that were down. Taking the elevator took a while. Unfortunately I’m recovering from 3 strokes earlier in the year, so taking stairs wasn’t always an option. Drinks from bars were good. Loved Ed’s special drink in Schooner bar. Showers had great water pressure. Leaving the ship was fairly painless.

Perfect vacation by 41pearl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group

We had 17 people in our group. It was handled well. Smooth boarding. Seating in MDR was worked out. The ability to text each other was spotty but useful. Great staff throughout the ship. Easy parking at the port

Great cruise! Nice ship that was only 1/3 full of guests. My only disappointment was the premium dining. Don’t waste your money on that! by rhondaleia

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Embarking/disembarking was pleasant and easy. We felt safe and that 90% of the ship was clean/sanitized. Due to covid, the ship was about 1/3 capacity and very enjoyable. The staff throughout the cruise were obviously very happy to be back and their positive attitudes were contagious. We hit up the “Hush party” at Ellenton bar and it was probably the best fun we’ve had since pre-Covid. The RC chat feature (for fee) is very lacking and needs updated, in fact the entire app is slow and outdated and at times reflected incorrect times for shows/ports (guest services is aware). Internet was also extremely slow, especially for the cost they charge! The specialty dining was a huge disappointment, especially Chops, and we won’t wast our money doing that again. Coco Cay is so beautiful so it’s a shame it has been turned so “commercial”, but the lunch was amazing and it was a very relaxing, perfect day just chilling. Loved the complimentary continental room service breakfast; it was great waking up to a 7am call and fresh coffee, pastries and fruit delivered to the door for enjoying on the balcony. Our room attendant, Mark, brought us a bucket of ice as soon as we asked and then brought us one each day after! He even made a towel cake for the birthday boy! We’ve taken a couple each Disney, Carnival, and one NCL—this was our second RCCL and I would say our second favorite of all.

Excellent 1st cruise back by khebner8580

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas

This was our 1st cruise since 2019. We decided on a short 3 night cruise to better understand the procedures traveling with un-vaccinated children. The staff went out of their way to make our trip wonderful. The dinning room Laxman, Geraldo and Francisco were amazing doing magic tricks for the kids. Bobby was our cabin attendant and we loved coming back to our clean rooms. He's been working for royal for 19 years and his wife works on the ship too. It was too short of a cruise for us but a perfect way to get back on a ship.

we had a great time onboard the Mariner of the Seas. with 2 of our granddaughters and with my brother and sister in law with 2 of his grandchildren. by gary66

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

this was a great rip with the grandchildren. we went to CoCo Cay. the grandchildren did not want to leave. there was plenty to do without buying the CoCo Cay package. if you want to use the water slide you will have to purchase.

Beautiful Ship, Food and entertainment could be better by Saisa

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

It was a short cruise, the ship is nice and clean. The staff is really friendly, courteous, and committed. The food not so good. We have been in other cruises cheaper than this and the food was better in the main dining room or same. I think that Royal Caribbean is more expensive than other companies and they need to improve in their food. We will have another cruise on Harmony; I hope food it will be better because we paid more in comparison with other cruises we have been before. We are not picky with food but you expect more quality when you pay more. -my opinion-

Overall, we had a fantastic time. This was the first cruise for the kids and they are already asking when we can go again! The teen club had fun activities planned and gave the kids the freedom they were looking for!

Not For Families With Small Children by jasonmccollough

Not great for kids, might be great for adults. Fist time cruisers could get a good taste of the cruise life here.

Perfect Relaxation by DDcruizer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas

We wanted to unplug and relax so this cruise was perfect. Sometimes traveling can add stress! This short 5 night trip had 2 sea days, perfect for non scheduled fun. The day we spent at CoCo Cay- bought beach club tickets- was perfect. Food was amazing and so was the day, Cozumel was less than perfect for us. We took a chocolate tasting excursion and it was disappointing.
