" A good cruise by KennyW

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship was the largest ship we have sailed on to date. Although the ship was large, the space used was unproductive. If you are on a ship at sea for two or more sailing days, there should be more speciality shopping areas to visit. The mini boat shore tour was not worth the money. The boats were old, and in some cases broken. The boats were slow and the tour is not at all like the wonderful pictures presented in the booklet. The food was average or poor. The drink prices were to high.

Easter spring break forget it by PatJ2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Ship is starting to get tired. Lots of delays because of the number of people with children. Shuttled service to and from airport terrible. 2 hours for 45 min journey. We actually got to ship and there was one person pointing the driver to go left, person behind him telling him to go right and a third person had the driver open the door and go somewhere else. Returning to airport one person had a flight. Driver stood chatting while we sat waiting to leave, then at the airport when person wanted to get off immediately driver shut the door so she couldn't get out until he emptied bus of the suitcases. Then he got on and told her in front of the whole bus her lateness was her problem she didn't plan correctly. We were supposed to get off ship between 8:30 & 9:30 we were not allowed to disembark until 10:30.

A wonderful cruise by JodiL1

We went on the Mariner of the Seas. We took our two children ages 13 and 15. The ship was beautiful. We enjoyed walking around the prominade deck and enjoying coffee or tea each afternoon in the cafe. Our rooms were very nice and the room attendant very pleasant and helpful. Our kids enjoyed the ability to roam around the ship meeting new friends and participating in the teen activities. The shows were awesome. It's amazing how an ice performance can happen on a cruise ship. The cruise director was hilarious and very informative.

Terrific Family Cruise by JimM21

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas was a wonderful experience. We had four generations with us. From my mother of 87 to our granddaughters of 7 and 10. Everyone enjoyed the experience. Highlights included the Ice Show (Ice Under the Big Top), wonderful food selection, and the personal attenion we received from the crew. My mother is able to walk but the distances involved required the use of a wheelchair. We weren't sure how that would work out but she did fine and didn't miss a single evening's entertainment. Our granddaughters were old enough that they didn't participate in the children's programs. They enjoyed ice skating, swimming, evening entertainment and excursions. The dining room staff gave them a great deall of personal attention including helping them select food and providing them with a plate of cookies to take back to the room.

Ship was great. Large so if full it did not seem that way. Many activities, plenty of kids programs for all ages, great food, very clean and everyone was helpful. Layout was easy to learn and get around.

Great Cruise by ScotH

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Mariner of the Seaqs is one of the best ships with an incredibly friendly crew. There is incredible artwork all over the ship. The food is fantastic. You have to go to Portofino's and Chops! The Spa and workout facilities were great. The Cruise Director and staff never slept they have non-stop energy! It is truly a ship for all ages and Port Canaveral is a great port to cruise from, with it's easy access.

The ship was beautiful, the staff was fantastic - considering the size, the main dining rooms were set in such a way that dining felt fairly intimate

a nice first-time experience by MacS

Sail date: /
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall ship was beautiful, but I was really disappointed in ventilation systems for air conditioning. The medical section on board had their hands full on this cruise with bronchitis, flu, colds, 911 calls, and even had to have 1 passenger transported to emergency room in Cozumel. Otherwise staff personnel on board did an A-1 job.

The cruise met our every expectation by BarbaraM33

Sail date: /
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was clean, the staff was friendly & helpful. We were just on Mariner in November & we have cruised Explorer twice. I want to become a diamond member, but I was very disappointed that it was such a problem to request a waiter when it was requested months in advance. Mehi (i don't know if the spellng is correct) made our last trip so much fun at dinnertime. Other than that the cruise was wonderful. We are planning another cruise around November & will probably cruise the Mediterranian next year. It may be a small thing to you, but the waiter situation was really upsetting. I don't like being told he would lose money. No one knows how much we tip & was it an attempt to say we would not put the appropriate tips. All of our staff were tipped was requested & all got more than that since service was so good. I love Royal Caribbean cruising & am planning to become a Diamond member.

The ship overall was very nice. Per usual, the service on Royal Carribean was excellent. The shows were not as good as usually, although the ice show was great. Speciality dining was fantastic!

I have been on several other cruises and this was the worse. Had a problem that no one seemed to want to listen to. Not enough access to drinking water.

The ship was laid out so it was easy to find things. I liked the promenade with all the shops lining the way.
