Great ports of call. by JgluckmanJ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

Ship itslef was fine, but the public restrooms were generally not well attended to. Floors of the mens' rooms were usually wet, and not from the visitors washing their hands.

Coming Home from Rome the Slow Way by SuzieL81694042

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

Relaxation was the order on the day for this trip and we didn't even have to think about how we would relax, since the whole cruise provided numerous ways to leave stress ashore while having fun. The whole experience was out of this world and I plan to do it again as soon as work and other obligations permit.

A good transatlantic crossing by GeorgeG75897205

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

Limited use of off-color humor in entertainment. Very professional captain and navigational crew. Good cabin service. Good to excellent table service iin main dining room. Well designed ship for passenger enjoyment. Good food. Johnny Rockets overpriced $5 per person not including milkshakes! Positive crossing. Good product.

it was not what I expected by RobertoLopez

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

nice ship, clean, nice amenities and GREAT ice show. HOWEVER- VERY BAD COORDINATION Of shore excursions/ they cancelled one of our excursions in ISRAEL and we were never contacted, we almost lost another day at the sea. THE GUEST services desk was always FULL, the people were not very nice and not very helpful. There was always a long line. we had a bad experience that \"damage\" the rest of the cruise.

Holy Land Cruise by LaurieM9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The Mariner of the Seas was a beautiful ship with nice ammenities - the ship's art collection was fantastic! We enjoyed the interior promenade space with its cafes and shops. The staff at the Johnny Rocket's hamburger diner was fantastic and seemed to enjoy their work a lot - they were really fun. The spa staff was also wonderful - welcoming and professional. The stateroom was a good size and the balcony useable -our first time with a balcony and worth it. The stateroom staff was fine although the attention to detail was missing. Overall the food was fine but not outstanding. The Top Hat and Tails dining room was lovely but noisy and in the buffet restaurant the food was mediocre most of the time. We also noticed the service staff hauling carts of dirty dishes and trash through the Windjammer (buffet restaurant) each time we were there - something we don't remember ever seeing on our most recent Disney cruise. Overall the experience was relaxing, the ship's entertainment was good and the activity staff was very enthusiastic. It did feel like we were being nickled and dimed at every turn ( $4.50 soft drinks and $10.00 bar drinks) - again something we had not previously experienced on other cruise lines. This was our first RCI cruise - they clearly have loyal fans - but we'll keep looking at other lines to find our favorite (thus far it's Disney).

This ship, the Mariner of the Sea and its staff were perfect. The ship is amazing and the staff were kind, caring, and exciting. The WOW factor is always present. Tons to do on the ship and the land excursions were great!! I would go again in a heart beat.

Worth every penny by JeffreyK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

We sailed from Civitavechia/Rome on 15th September. Boarding quite painless, through check in less than 10 minutes. Went to our room and met our efficient, very friendly and attentive steward Abraham Lincoln from Trinidad. We had lunch at the Windjammer. The Windjammer for breakfast or lunch was something we did out of necessity. The quality of food was adequate (we enjoyed the omelettes) but the crowd of people made it uncomfortable. The food in the main restaurant for breakfast and lunch was good and I enjoyed the salad bar and the service was excellent. The food in the main restaurant, Top Hat and Tails, was good and usually hot, the service was average. I always add ice to my wine but every meal I had to request the ice except once (the day after the headwaiter was informed of our problems). One of our fellow diners at our table requested a cappuccino only to be told that the machine was broken. Also, someone at the table requested strawberries which were not on that days menu and was told it was not available, although it was available to the next table. A couple at our table made a complaint and for the rest of the cruise The headwaiter was informed of both of these items and for the rest of the cruise cappuccinos and strawberries arrived daily but it made the waiters nervous and made us uncomfortable. Our room was excellent and Abraham was always smiling and helpful (reminding us to take water, sunscreen & hats) when leaving on our excursions. We were very disappointed our excursions to Egypt were cancelled but Royal Caribbean made the decision that it was too dangerous due to the situation. They made the best of a bad situation by scheduling stops in Malta & Sicily. The excursions booked through the cruise were expensive but well worth it. The tour guides were very good if not excellent, except for in Malta (which was a last minute change in the itinerary). Of the 2 pools, we loved the Solarium as it was much quieter and adults only. Amazing getaway!!! by SilviaA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The best cruise we have ever taken. Stuff is helpful, knowledgeable, smiling and happy. Food is done to perfection! We usually do the \"specialty\" restaurants after 2-3rd day at sea but this time we decided to stay with the regular fare. Immaculately clean all over - this ship deserves 15 stars out of 10!
