Review summary

We had a great time on the Mariner. We loved the layout of the ship, the people, the crew and staff, the bars, the delicious drinks and food, the variety of entertainment, the karaoke and the 18+ games. The specialty restaurant Chops was Delicious! The itinerary was one of our favorites. We will be back.

Embarkation

Our embarkation was very fast and smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We enjoyed all the food. The main dining room was run very well. The food presentation and taste was very good. If you didn’t like your meal, our waiters would suggest and quickly bring something else. We also enjoyed eating in the main dining room for breakfast and lunch on sea days.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We didn’t participate but we enjoyed watching everyone else participate. There was so much to do. We watched pickle ball, basketball, pool and ping pong. It was fun.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We loved the shows. The singers and dancers were very professional and very good. The acts like the juggler and comedians were very entertaining.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward was Marlon and he was excellent. Our room was very clean and if we needed something, he got it quickly. The bartenders were so nice, fast and were really good at their craft! Boleros bar was our favorite with Saby, Putu and Jill making us feel special. We enjoyed the live bands and dancing there. Another very good special bar is the one where the trivia takes place and the piano man plays and sings.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It was a very clean ship. We liked the decor of the ship and the lighting. It’s not a huge ship which we liked because we didn’t have to stand in long lines for anything. It was an easy ship to get around from one show to the next. It does not have a huge atrium but it is a well designed and attractive area with its chandeliers and curved stairways.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
It’s a small cabin but it has a window with a view to the promenade. It has 2 small sofas which are a bit worn. We changed our room because the window was cloudy. Our room we stayed in was 7277. It was very clean. These type rooms don’t have a lot of closet space. They have 4 small drawers and some shelving in the closet for more storage.

Ship tip

Pack more casual dress clothes than formal clothes. It’s a casual ship. You can dress up or dress casual at night. Also use the app for finding out times for food and entertainment.

Ports of call

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

Very nice private island with several different places to enjoy the beach, pool or bars, and your drink package works there.

Bimini, Bahamas

Very nice port. We did not do an excursion but talked to people who did the world resort excursion and they said it was excellent b

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

Very nice, safe, clean. ALL shops close 5-5:30! Bars stay open later. We went into Hamilton by ferry and went to the bars. Very nice. Pretty. We went on an excursion around the island by boat. It was a snorkel, kayak, paddle board excursion. Just know the water isn’t calm. There are some waves coming in. Beautiful water!

Nassau, Bahamas

The cruise port now has been refurbished. It is very nice, clean and attractive. The straw market is directly across the street and Senor Frogs is just a walk down the street. It is a walk from the cruise ship but they do have small golf cart shuttles that will pick you up. Also you can take a taxi over to Atlantis and spend some time there at the casino and other places inside for one price.

Disembarkation

Great. We had time to go eat. Then we got our carry ons and sat in the promenade and had coffee until they called our section. Note: The people who carried their own luggage off were right before us. We basically got off at the same time which was around 8:30. My piece of luggage was lost so we had to make a claim and leave. An hour and half down the road they called us and said they thought someone had picked it up by accident and had returned it so we turned around and went back to get it because they said it would take 2 weeks to ship and I would have to pay for the shipping. Mark your luggage with something large and noticeable.
