Review summary

The shore excursions were the highlight of this cruise. Everything else was so-so because two weeks after this sailing the Mariner was headed to the Med. I believe the staff and crew's minds had already turned in that direction.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
We had priority boarding.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food and drinks were good as usual. This cruise was part of the December Diamond Celebration promotion RCI had at the time.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Fitness center was well equipped.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Loved the shows.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
This was an odd cruise. The staff/ship was preparing to be relocated to the Med. so everyone was mostly doing that. Not much attention paid to the pax.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Good design and clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
The Jr. Suite was fine it was our suite attendant that was the problem. After 3 days on our cruise I finally asked the attendant who was cleaning the stateroom across from ours if she was our attendant because we didn't know who ours was. She said no but I will get her for you. About 10 minutes later our attendant came to our suite and finally introduced herself, after 3 full days. She claimed she was trying to catch us but kept missing us. We are not that hard to catch because we spend a lot of time in our room. She then said, I will be putting a survey in your room and I would appreciate a good review. We usually tip our attendant and give a good review but this one just didn't measure up.

Ship tip

Bring a power strip.

Yes this was a cruise we took in 2010. At that time the Mariner was headed to the Med. from the port of Los Angeles. Compared to all of the other RCI cruises we take this one was just odd. We did enjoy ourselves though.

I think this was a review from 2010?

?? We sail her on May 20, 2019 so don't think it was headed for the Mediteranean?
