Review summary

This was our fifth cruise on Royal Carribean and defintiely not our favorite ship. We were told that it was the same as the Voyager (which we were on 4 years ago) but we were not as impressed with this ship. The service was fabulous and the activities for the kids could not be beat. The Chops Grille has excellent food and terrific service, however, the food both at the Windjammer and in the Dining Room was pretty awful. Voyager had outside tables and chairs where we were able to play cards and other games and on the Mariner, this space was taken up by the Chops Grille and Portofino. Voyager had a fun sports bar on the Promenade which this boat did not. The food on Coco Cay was unedible and we ended up going back to the ship to enjoy the frozen yogurt, which was always a huge line since one of the machines was ALWAYS broken!!! We did enjoy the Full Court basketball. Even the entertainment was not as enjoyable. The best part of the vacation was being togethere with 15 members of our family. There was something to do for everyone but i would pick another ship. We loved the Enchanment of the Sea and the Voyager of the Sea much more!

Ports of call

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

We enjoyed Trunks Bay for snorkeling and beaching.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

It was a hassle free day at the Beach with plenty of lounge chairs and activity. The aqua park was a waste of money. the kids got tired after 15 minutes and you pay for 50 minutes. the giant slide was much cooler and you could use it all day!

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

We took the water taxi to the beach right near the boat for convenience but the beach sand was horrible and the water so so. The locals jump on you as soon as you get off to rent "their " chairs but as least there were chairs to be gotten. Most people went to Orient Beach and loved it. That would be my recommendation.
