Mariner of the Seas

7 Night Eastern Caribbean (Port Canaveral Roundtrip)

Sail date: June 10, 2007

Ship: Mariner of the Seas

Cabin type: Inside

Traveled as: Family (young children)

Reviewed: 17 years ago

Review summary

The ship was beautiful and had something for everyone *including a library and a 24 hr cafe. Keep in mind, it is a better ship for those who are willing to wait and walk. The only negative I can think of is that too many handicapped folks drove those motorized "jazzy" scooters. I saw people pinned inside elevators (literally), one formal dress was ripped when one rolled onto the dress ripping it. I know accomodations are made for all types of people, but I really feel it was at the expense of others. Perhaps non motorized wheelchairs would be more in keeping with crowds and other passengers.

We didn't do the optional activities but had a great day on the beach. Kids can use battery operated Jeeps on a trail.... great fun.

Pros: the ship had a library, and St Maartin is just like a postcard

Cons: ship was packed with people....entirely full, lots of teenagers and handicappers with jazzys
