This was our first Oceania cruise after using Celebrity for many years. Pros of Oceania are less people, better food (although Celebrity's food is very good), and easier and quicker to get on and off the ship. Cons for Oceania are the evening entertainment was not very good, in our opinion, except for the comedian and one lively Mexican singer. That being said, we have two more Oceania cruised booked on their newer ship, Vista.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Embarkation was very informal and seemed unorganized. The facility used in Oslo seemed very temporary and lines were not clearly identified. Personnel working the embarkation were very nice, though.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The dining experience on Oceania Marina could not have been better. The food was delicious and fresh and the service was excellent.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We did not use the fitness center, spa, or pool, but did enjoy the putting green.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
I'm sorry to say that the evening entertainment onboard was very disappointing. The singers and dancers were okay, but on this 22 day cruise, the "Broadway" shows repeated and there were too many piano player/singers for our liking. We prefer more lively entertainment, such as comedians, etc.
Children's Programs
We did not bring children, although there were a few onboard. Oceania really is supposed to be adults only.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The service onboard could not have been better...it was excellent.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship was very clean, but is in need of an upgrade. Also, we are tall people and I have to say the ceilings throughout the ship are very low compared to other cruise line ships we have been on. We felt a bit cramped until we got used to it, but I only cleared the signs in the ceiling (such as Exit) by about 6 inches at most. I am 6" tall and my husband is 6"3 and he cleared by about 3 inches. Our taller son would not fit on this ship without hitting his head.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin was a nice size and very clean, but in need of new furniture, which I believe it will get on the upcoming refurb, I hope. The bathroom had a large tub which we did not use because it seemed hard to get in and out of it. The shower was very small, as on most cruise ships.
