I packed sweaters because the other boats I have been on were much cooler. It was very hot everywhere I went on the Mardi Gras. So my advice is don't worry about packing long sleeves unless it's winter time.

Make sure if you want to go to something like the comedy club to arrive quiet a bit early as the line gets large and you may not have the opportunity to attend the event.

Be prepared for the elevators, they are small, always packed, and you will wait forever for one with space going where you need it to go.

The food on the boat was not the best, in the buffets it was always the same meals few seasons for so many people, in the dinners in the restaurants the waits were long to serve the meals and the menu was not the best. The shows were repeated 2 times. Shops on different floors. In short, I don't think I'll travel with carnival again, it's my second time and I've already seen that it's not the best. I'm still traveling with Royal Caribean.

Be prepared to walk. A lot. Get to the shows at least half hour early or you won't find a seat. There are lots of good options for food.

This was my first cruise and it was in an xl lass ship. I had a great time celebrating my birthday on a cruise ship for the first time. The Mardi Gras will always be home.
