Fantastic Cruise by GalenB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Mardi Gras

Loved it! Would definitely do it again. I loved everything about it but the only thing I would change in a design stand point, would be public bathrooms. They could be larger and those automatic doors need to go.

Great cruise to Western Caribb bet well managedean by Nedeaux

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Great cruise experience. Entertainment and food were exceptional. Ship is beautifully appointed and staff is friendly and helpful. It seems that there is at least 2 people needed in areas like the Pizza Restaurant etc but overall a great experience.

Nice Cruise, but crowds definitely up! by softball25

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Second time on Mardi Gras and love the ship. It was over 90% percent full and crowded in some areas, but really no wait for food, except for pizza. If you like megaships, you will love it! We will definitely be going again!

Amazing Caribbean Family Cruise! by dwooten524

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It all starts with our Cruise planner Danielle...I am grateful for her. We have made beautiful memories, that are priceless. Life is a journey and it's filled with beauty, trails & tribulations along the way, this cruise allowed my family and I too reconnect and reflect on what's important. We had an amazing time on the Mardi Gras and I am truly thankful.

Way too crowded by ullamist

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Mardi Gras

I hate writing negative cruise reviews, but I think it’s important to be aware that not everyone is suited for a Mardigras Cruise. You have to not mind the atmosphere of a busy amusement park, you have to embrace the idea of hurry up and wait, you have to be ok with loud music with loud resonating bass woofers and you must be prepared to deal with mass humanity up close and personal. There were some wonderful parts of the ship—The Bolt was amazing— but book all the times you want on day 1 or else you will be shut out of times. The entertainment — singers/actors were the best we have seen on 30+ cruises—the sound and light systems would be the envy of any theater. The guys mixing the sound must be deaf— allowing the music and vocals to be so loud and poorly balanced as to be painful to listen to at times. The pools were heavenly but could only be appreciated on port days when the ship was nearly empty. And all of Guys restaurants were wonderful. The elevators were so small and impossibly busy. The public bathroom doors were mind boggling— who designed the doors that wouldn’t close in a timely manner?— the guys just gave up and peed in the urinals with the doors wide open for all to watch. And then there were the doors to the outside that sometimes opened automatically and sometimes you had to locate the small button and press it about 3 times before the door would reluctantly open. As for me— I prefer a less crowded cruise— I hate to worry about not finding a seat when I want to watch a show or having to wait over an hour in order to eat dinner anywhere. And you also don’t need to mind the extra charges popping up everywhere. Everything is expensive— $22.00 for a digital picture. Probably would have bought most of our pictures in digital format and spent several hundred dollars if the prices had been more reasonable.

Shame on you Carnival by katiekat2802

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Carnival put money ahead of the customer experience and it showed. They chose to fill a ship that was only half staffed and every passenger on board felt the brunt of it. Thank you Carnival for souring my vacation. The next cruise I drop $8000 on will not be with Carnival!

Ginormous Ship by Kochgrrl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Family cruise with BFF and her family too. We had an aft balcony and, it was a mistake! Soooo far from everything. It was wonderful though. So many things to do, you for sure need to go on this ship multiple times to see and do it all. Bolt was down most of the time. Our time was cancelled 3 times and we never got to ride it. The ropes course was amazing though!! And the waterslides were fantastic.

Wonderful cruise by jimdeb4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

It was a wonderful vacation. This is a very large new class of ship. That provides a lot more dining and entertainment options but I would choose a smaller ship next time.

Bigger Isn't Always Better by momtastic41

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Style over substance. The Carnival Mardi Gras has all the bells and whistles, but ultimately fails to deliver. Food, service, and entertainment are all okay, but nothing to write home about.

An amazing trip! Entertainment was so goo every night. The food was not the greatest, but food and staffing is hard anywhere right now. We would definitely book this ship again. by dprince0207

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Mardi Gras / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall a good experience! We would book this ship again. The food was our biggest disappointment. The buffet offerings were limited and at times cold and inedible. With so many people on the ship there were long lines for most food offerings, and you had to arrive about an hour early for center stage entertainment.
