Review summary

Carnival put money ahead of the customer experience and it showed. They chose to fill a ship that was only half staffed and every passenger on board felt the brunt of it. Thank you Carnival for souring my vacation. The next cruise I drop $8000 on will not be with Carnival!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Dining was slow and tasteless. I love that carnival is using the dining experience to nickel and dime the passengers. I mean really $3 for popcorn that was free 2 years ago. No sweet tea in the paid dining venues, and $5 for for a 4oz cranberry juice at dinner.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The rope course and bolt were closed at times we were scheduled to do them.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
They were very obviously half staffed with a very full ship and everyone felt it. I have never had such subpar service on a Carnival ship I am so disappointed that it will be a long time before I sail Carnival again.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
This is the worst laid out ship to date. More than three floors were broken in half meaning that you would have to go up to go down. It was confusing and hard to navigate. There were dirty dishes and garbage constantly all over the ship, it was disgusting.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
I thought the spa rooms had up graded beds. I was more comfortable on the couch.

I didn't think they were short staffed at all. They were usually by in 5 minutes or so to pick up dishes everywhere we saw

Ropes course is free, you don't need a certain time for it just go. Ropes course and bolt get closed when its windy. I was on the same cruise and had non of those issues. Food was excellent. Deck 6-8 and 16-18 are the only decks you really needed to know. My family didn't think it was hard to navigate. Popcorn should have been free at the seaside theater

I just got off the Mardi Gras and had zero issues. The food options were phenomenal, and I could not try them all. The layout of the ship was great, and I truly enjoyed how open it is. The center stage area was awesone.

Thanks for the review. People seem to love or hate Mardis Gras. Luckily there are lots of other ships and cruise lines to choose from. One tip for future cruises - Never cruise during Spring Break (March - late April).

Sounds fantastic. I seen over 35 posts on the same dates you were there who had a great time. The secret must be to not be you. That should be simple.

Sorry ypur experience wasn't good. I was on the same ship a few weeks prior and had NO issues. Wonderful ship and crew
