Review summary

Wearing of masks is essentially on a voluntary basis, even in the congested areas like the theatre and elevators. I would say more than 95% of the passengers go totally maskless, except at the terminal. The workers are still wearing their masks and I personally look forward to the time that they too can go maskless. This was a happy cruise for all on board and a fun experience.

Embarkation

Smooth and effective

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Excellent in all aspects. Previously Princess' beef wasn't all that great, but that seems to have completely changed now. The selection of food products seems to have been smaller, but the quality was great.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The activities were adequate for most of the cruisers.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
In my personal opinion there are always far too many production type shows and singers. Personally I would prefer other types of entertainment. There were however quite a few magicians and comedians and those were absolutely great.

Children's Programs

We do not have young children, but we heard from others on the cruise that these activities were much appreciated my their children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was extremely helpful, friendly, hard working and were happy to be back on board cruising.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Clean, well sanitized and probably the safest place a person can be today as far as the virus goes.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our cabin was B705 (we were upgraded from the obstructed view cabin). The cabin was located near the elevators, but there was absolutely no noise from them within our cabin. The balcony was slightly larger, I believe than the ones on the Regal, but still it was very narrow. It was covered which provided some shade during certain times of the day.

Ship tip

There were 2,950 passengers on this cruise, which is getting close to maximum. So, cruising is coming back and everyone seemed happy about that, both passengers and staff. This is a beautiful and well designed ship.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

1 out of 5
Unfortunately the port is a long ways from the airport. For those cruiser that want to fly in a day early and/or layover a day after the cruise they must decide whether to stay near the dock or near the airport and transpiration cost today has gotten more expensive. Some Princess Mexican cruises are not leaving out of San Diego, which may be better for transportation purposes.

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5
A great way to experience the natural culture is to walk to the old town center. Mazatlan has made this very easy by placing a blue line in the sidewalk or street. You simply follow that blue line for about 3/4 where there are cafes, shops and nice little community center with benches and sculptures. There also are volunteers (Canadian and U.S.) folks along the way that can provide info and free maps. This is a very safe area and provides a unique experience for free.
