Review summary

Really enjoyed the Majestic Princess cruise to Glacier Bay National Park and other SE Alaska cities.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Went like clock work with Princess Medallion Class information. Appreciate that they required vaccines and recent COVID test for all passengers and crew

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main Dining room experience and flexibility of that was great.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Did a trolley tour in Ketchikan and driver was knowledgeable and friendly. We didn't use many of the on board activities.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Didn't participate directly, but heard some good music while walking the ship

Children's Programs

Very few children on board on our cruise (schools had started back up) - our kids are grown.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
stateroom steward was great and also waiters and assistants. There was one need to have a rapid COVID test following an excursion when a participant became ill. This was handled well by medical and other ship staff. Appreciate that they kept us informed and took precautions.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Would have like a promenade deck where you could walk the whole outside of the ship - the 17th deck walking areas were not covered so not enjoyable in the rain for doing my daily walk. However, I did discover an inside fitness facility where I could use a treadmill.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
A little small, but worked well. Having a balcony is essential for this cruise

Ship tip

Explore gradually and try some of the unique events they offer

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

5 out of 5
Parked at a nearby lot for the week - $184

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
We used to live here so did a day out with friends to see old haunts. Would have taken the tram (definitely) if weather was better

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Found a great book store and purchased other gifts while exploring on our own. Had taken train years ago and enjoyed lunch in Canada - however, it sounds like border was currently closed and train didn't go to the pass.

Cruise Glacier Bay

5 out of 5
Rangers coming on board were great. Saw much more of the tidewater glaciers and wildlife than expected. A good way to see the National Park at this time of year.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
Did a couple of hours on our own in the city and enjoyed lunch, tour through National Park Visitor Center and shopping - all very close to the ship.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We walked off with our bags and were able to pick up car and get home (Portland, OR) by noon

Traveler Photos

Fairly recent sculpture by Juneau-Douglas Bridge Sunny skies, though snow was Saxman Totems
