Great Time Aboard Liberty of the Seas
Sail Date: /
Traveled As: Couple
I just got back from my cruise on Liberty of the Seas and had a great time. The ship was great and had a lot to do on board. Our balcony room was clean and our stateroom attendant was great. He was outgoing and friendly and did an awesome job keeping the room clean. Our dining room servers were excellent as well, always asking if we needed anything and if we liked our dishes. I enjoyed the stops in Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica. We had great weather and made the most of our time while on the ship and while on vacation. I would go on Liberty of the Seas again. I didn't mind Galveston, but would have preferred more destinations within easier walking distance to visit and explore. Overall though a great time and a great cruise.
This cruise was outstanding. Main dining could not have been better. Head waiter (Charles), waiter (Bento), and assistant (Michelle) were probably the best I have ever had. Service was always timely in dining room and bars. Buffet always had more than enough staff to wait on you for whatever your needs were. Staff always wore a smile and were eager to make you vacation the best they could.
I have no favorite part, every aspect of every thing we choose to involve ourselves in we were greeted and assisted with an utmost level of professionalism and curtsey form staff and crew. We were very impressed on a daily basis.
On a personal note I would like to express my gratitude to the Casino assistant Host. AMAL KHOVAJA displayed a level of people skills that was almost unbelievable. She was more than willing to be helpful with information abut not only the goings on in the casino but about things involving the entire ship. My encounter with her strongly influenced my overall review rating. I was onboard with my mom, Amal and the rest of the crew we encountered has our eternal and lasting gratitude.
Fifth cruise we have taken but the first with Royal Caribbean and we totally rate this as the best. Not only in food, but everything else. There is nothing I could recommend to improve. The food was beyond belief especially on buffet.
We really appreciated the cleanliness of the ship! The staff were amazing...especially in the Rembrandt dining area. Loved the musicians throughout the ship, the games, the dancing and especially the shows! Whatever you do, make time to enjoy the shows. Also, we found that watching Channel 14 in the mornings to watch the Cruise Director was very helpful. He was an absolute hoot and gave some great information that we wouldn't have known about otherwise!!!
i would definitely recommend this cruise for relaxation and a stress free vacation. Absolutely beautiful ship on a small scale of the Oasis of the Seas. Departure could have been better for anyone travelling on a bus transfer to the airport. We were first to leave the ship however our luggage was in the last section and by the time we got there the lines for customs were so long that we were late arriving at the bus. Luggage should have been the first to be found as you come into the terminal from the ship.
What a blast on the water with so much to do on the ship. We always had something to do and were treated very nicely. Dining Staff, AJesh and Agnelo, were top class and gave us the best experience ever.
Had a great time on my third RC cruise. The Ship was great, lots to do, and the staff was awesome. We had good weather, got lucky in the casino, enjoyed the sun and music by the pool, watched Flowrider participants, slid down the huge water slide and had great food and drinks. We did not try the Flowrider, or the rock wall, miniature golf or get to the all the specialty restaurants. Did visit most the bars, did some shopping on the Royal Promenade, participated in shore excursions, listened to some fun music in the a couple nightclubs and met some new friends. Cruising is great fun - will look forward to the next one.
The balcony and complimentary and very well organized kids camp was worth the trip alone. First, research the class of ships and the specific ship to see if it meets your expectations. We wanted a kid friendly ship that didn't feel like people were stacked on top of one another, and Liberty of the Seas didn't disappoint. The ability to walk onto a balcony was priceless and I'll never do without one! Bring your allotted two bottles of wine. Don't book expensive excursions through the ship. Buy through or wait until you get there. There is plenty to drink without buying the drink packages, unless you want to drink a ton of alcohol. I bought a 15 specialty coffee pass and used it, but the free coffee was decent and plentiful, so not sure I'd buy another pass. We ordered a few pina coladas and otherwise drank our wine -way cheaper than drink packages. The only thing I didn't like was all of the up-selling attempts. That was annoying. The food was inconsistent, and should be better in the MDR for what you pay. Two nights were really good, two nights were bad, and two nights were ehh. The one night we ate filets at chop grill, which costs extra, was awesome. We won't be multiple cruise people (maybe one more to Alaska), but it's worth doing every 5-10 years.
This was our third cruise, all with Royal Caribbean. At our recommendation, some of our children have already cruised with RC and others plan to. This cruise seemed to have more unaccompanied kids and kids running in the halls than I have previously noticed. Please don't allow RC to become what our perception of Carnival is.
We just returned from 7 nights on LOS and it was wonderful. Embarking was seamless for us we arrived at the pier at 10am checked in and got out sea passes and hung out in the boarding lounge until they started boarding. We got on the ship around 11:30 or so eat at windjammer and then hung out on deck until the staterooms were ready. We go to our stateroom around 1:30pm and our luggage was there waiting for us. At the muster drill the captain informed us that due to hurricane Irma we were going to have some ruff seas Sunday night and most of the day Monday with swells of 12-15ft. The captain also informed us that once we got closer to Cozumel the seas would get better. On the first full day at sea Monday the ship was rocking sometimes it listed around 15 degrees in either direction. Once we got further away from the golf of Mexico the seas got better. After Monday we had calm seas and no issues with weather. The food was good, the ship was clean and any staff that my wife and I came in contact with was friendly and polite. The shops were the shops they would try to get you to stop in buy, but that did not bother us we just said "no thank you" and kept it moving and when we say them again they just said hello. The slides were great and when I was around the pool area it was clean and attendants were visible and helpful. We had JS and our stateroom steward was excellent he was very attentive and every time we saw him he had a smile on his face and always spoke and went for the other stateroom attendants that we ran into. We ate in all 3 specialty restaurants Chops Grill, Sobero's Mexican and Giovanni's Table they were all excellent. The actives were endless and the shows were wonderful and entertaining. We did self carry for disembarking just to try it and it was quick and easy. Overall this was an excellent cruise and had loads of fun.
For our 1st cruise we had a great experience. Not knowing what to expect is a little scary, but everything went smoothly. Embarkation day went smooth. We arrived at port at 10:30am in the pouring rain, we were only in line about 30min. Very efficient. The Ship was spotless and magnificent. Our Balcony room #9608 was more spacious than I expected and having a balcony was worth the price. Our room attendant Damaso was quick and very friendly. There was always a towel character waiting for us.
The windjammer was always stocked, some things were better than others just like any buffet. We always ate at the main dining room for dinner, we never had to wait for a table for my time dining. Godfrey and Shen were so friendly and personable. The food was always hot and delicious, tiger shrimp and lobster were my favorite.
I think my husband ate his weight in pizza at Sorrentos. A self serve soda machine would be really convenient. Getting a soda from the bar seemed to annoy the bartenders. Also the bottled water protocol seemed varied. One person would just look at your card and give you water, others would scan it, write the number down, or both.
The pools and jacuzzis were always clean and I found chairs easily. I'm sensitive to smoke so I would have liked the smoking areas to be on the top deck instead of by the main pools. The slides and flowrider were fun and fun to watch. I didn't get a chance to rock climb, but it looked cool.
The shows were hit or miss. The ice skating show was exceptional. All the shops had nice merchandise for reasonable prices.
Disembarking was well organized and we found our luggage quickly. We got a shuttle to the airport (Hobby) and the bus was spacious and air conditioned.
I could go on and on, but I would definitely cruise again with RC, and will start saving for our next one. Amazing experience overall!
Our first cruise was excellent! More than I was hoping for! Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas is a beautiful ship. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful; was never in need of anything and if we were all we had to do is ask. The shows were unbelievable! the cast members were so talented! Met some great people and had lots of fun! Looking forward to our next cruise with Royal Caribbean.
Loved the cruise with Royal Caribbean, but had bad experience with . They promised me a Specialty Dinner for two, but I didn't get it. I will certainly cruise with Royal Caribbean again but won't book through . They don't honor their promises - better to book direct with cruise line.
Royal Caribbean still provides a great value in cruising. Ship was newly refurbished and it showed. Service, especially cabin attendant, was uniformly excellent. Great food at specialty restaurants. Main dining room showed signs of cost cutting with lobsters the size of large shrimp and tiny scallops. Entertainment choices were limited to comedians and only two production shows ("Saturday Night Fever" was excellent), again signs of cost cutting. We noticed more hawking of packages than previous cruises, to the point of distraction.
