Review summary

This is our first cruise on Royal, we enjoyed but would prefer to travel on a newer ship next time. Some of the older amenities are so outdated, the telephone lines and plugs needs to be updated and the furniture is very old, but overall it was a great start.

Thanks for sharing your cruise experience. Glad you enjoyed your cruise. I’m curious as you stated in your ship tip be prepared to spend lots of unexpected money. What do you mean by that? We’ve cruised and never spent extra money on the ship unless we bought something in one of the onboard shops, gambled in the casino, extra tip for our drinks and tip our stateroom attendant and main dining room servers for wonderful service at the end of the cruise. We budget for that prior to the cruise. We prepay our onboard gratuities and budget how much we want to spend in the ports of call.
