Review summary

Great trip. Nine days went fast. Beautiful beaches in Bermuda and Grand Turk. The DR people were friendly but beaches were not as pristine. Enjoyed our excursions. The tour guides were excellent.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Check in was super easy. Royal and the city of Bayonne need to upgrade their parking situation. Lot is far from port and is a long walk especially for elderly or handicapped people.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We had great service at the dining room with our waiter and assistant waiter. Food at the Windjammer was good but repetitive.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Husband used the fitness center every morning. We used pools and hot tubs every day.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows were okay. Saturday Night Fever was the headliner which was decent. There was also a illusionist, comedian and other singers.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent service from our room steward, Clifton, and our waiter, Binoy and Assistant Waiter, Utari. Washy washy staff member at the entrance of the Windjammer was also so full of energy!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Ship was clean, however, clearly needs to be refurbished. Dining room chairs were stained and dirty. Upgrades need to be made.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Balcony cabin was a good size. Luggage easily fit under the bed. Large closet. Mattress was comfortable.

Ship tip

Bring USB port adapters as there are none. Had to purchase on from the Photo Gallery.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

We took a shuttle to Horseshoe Bay Beach which was super crowded. Pretty beach but too many people.

Grand Turk Island

The water was GORGEOUS!

La Romana, Dominican Republic

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

Plenty to do at this port with a free lazy river, pools, restaurants and other places within walking distance.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
We took our own luggage which was easy. It was pouring rain and a long walk back to where we had to park our car. There really should be a covered walkway to the parking area. We were soaking wet, had to walk through huge puddles and our shoes were drenched. The parking area in Bayonne looks like a third world. Cars were untouched and safe but RC really needs to invest some money in this parking situation. There is only one garage and handicap people only get to use it. It is a very long walk to your car while dragging your large suitcases through the rain and inclement weather.

Appreciate your review but I don’t believe RC has anything to do with parking

Thanks for sharing . Was it difficult getting shuttle to and from beach ? Cost ? Was there anything you found out about this location that you would have done differently if you knew before hand ?
