You will do a lot of walking. Everywhere you go they are marketing you if only in their store windows. Most of the ship for public areas were part of the music venues. Don’t go expecting great entertainment presented by a wonderful Cruise Director. We never even saw him in 11 days. We didn’t go to the shows swaying you to go to port shops. Ya da ya da. We’ve cruised 34 times so this isn’t our first rodeo!

Packing cubes make packing and unpacking a breeze. Also helps to keep your items organized for your daily routines.
The cabin has a motion sensor light when all lights are out and you attempt to go to the bathroom. It shines only at the floor and stays on for about 10 seconds. What a nice safety design.

Realize entertainment will be limited to BB Kings, Rolling Stones, Billboard Onboard and Lincoln Center. Gone are all the dance floors and opportunity for pre/post dinner dancing and solo piano venues. HAL’s main passenger demographic is 60+ retiree. Families will be better suited on the sister company Princess or “other ships” featuring rock walls, ice skating, bumper cars, etc. don’t expect Vegas-style shows, and realize guest performers will be in the theater every night.

I read on Cruise Critic that I should bring a power strip. Don't! It will be confiscated. The cabins had plenty of outlets.

It’s very laid back. Quiet pool time, not the loud music that some ships have.

Don’t expect a lot about this ship unless music is your thing.

The ship seems to be geared toward an older crowd. If you are a senior citizen this is the cruise for you. Very laid back.

Bring things to occupy your time. There was no Christmas, Hannukah or Holiday spirit on the ship. It was advertised as a Holiday Cruise.
