Overall a great cruise. This in part because because staffing levels were back to norm.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Easiest as we just stayed aboard as consecutive cruises.. ( but see previous review of fastest boarding ever)
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
100% improvements over our cruise last fall in the Brilliance. Staffing numbers much better in all locations. Though we heard complaints, our was always hot, on time and service was great.
Shoreside Dining Room
4 out of 5
Only four stars because we don’t like the new themed menus. Two of the nights we did not attend because of them. Dining time is definitely been reduced to a manageable 1.5 hours which was good. Our wait staff were phenomenal, Iketuk and Iweyan were exceptional.
Windjammer Café
3 out of 5
Seems a lot of dishes were devoted to Indian food and Vegetarian. Always enough to satisfy our needs but could use some pizzazz….and the carvery station need some work. To many repeats.
Schooner Bar
5 out of 5
Usual hangout for a lot of guests. Lots of waiters. Trivia and music was good here.
Giovanni's Table
5 out of 5
No complaints
Chops Grille
5 out of 5
Good service, great portions, good food all round.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Solarium pool was nice and always busy..but could find a spot.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Actually enjoyed A great magician, funny ventriloquist and such, but we’re not into the singers and dancers that were mostly on.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Numbers were back up to me. There was adequate staffing in all areas
Iketuk and Iwayen in MD were top notch.
Tchiago in The Diamond lounge
Russell the concierge.
Rose in the Diamond lounge and Viking
Kasuma our cabin attendant
Above and beyond by all the above..
Protocol is friendly greetings by all staff…but it felt very genuine on this ship.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
She’s an older girl and showing it. Needed a couple of things repaired in our cabin..they were handled.
They work hard to keep her clean and are constantly working on things.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Large ocean view..adequate overall. Location not so great when theatre shows are as the noise could be heard. But was quiet once they ended. Also noise from lower the anchor or the bow thrusters was loud on early arrivals….
Ship tip
Smaller ship with ports of call in smaller places are likely, and those will likely entice an older crowd. We liked that as well as not needing all the Flowriders, sky diving etc.
We did a HOHO here and caught the main sites then took a “Ferry cross the Mersey” boat tour. Afterwards hung out around the Albert docks. Tons to see and do here and not just Beatles stuff…great city
Again a shuttle or excursion needed, but we’ll worth it. We spent the bulk of our time at the Titanic museum. A must see. Excursion here not available from the ship ( we booked our on online months in advance)…walk ups could not always get in due to timed admissions.
A little gem for us as we did a steam train excursion with tea and cream ( scones too lol)..was a great train ride. Saw the Channel tunnel entrance along the way too. And the white cliffs were amazing.
