You actually come in to Invergordon not Inverness. When I looked at excursions to do from there there were excursions to go on the Loch Ness, others to visit different towns south and others to go north. We had a group of about 12 and of course many wanted to go to the Loch Ness but I would suggest doing one of the excursions that takes you up north.

Not as many attractions unless you do a tour to Loch Ness.

Bit deceptive as Invergordon is the port. Excursion or transportation needed to Inverness..Not a lot to see or do in Invergordon itself.
