Review summary

This was a very interesting cruise with many stops at cities all along the coast of Norway. I guess on board were very international so there were many languages spoken. Norway is a beautiful country with very beautiful friendly people and it should be on your bucket list.

Cabin / Stateroom

I am a solo traveler and this was one of three solo cabins on the ship. I was able to book the same state room for all three of my cruises so that was a big advantage. It’s an understatement to say that this is small, 100 ft.², but the layout of this one was very different than the other two. It’s hard to describe but the one thing I can say it was very comfortable. It had a twin bed in it and I was just fine with that.

Ports of call

Cruise Arctic Circle

3 out of 5
Although we did cross the Arctic Circle, there was nothing that you could see other than the commemorative paper you got stating that you have crossed the Arctic Circle. They did have some kind of a little celebration out by the pool where somebody dressed up as one of the gods and he jumped in the pool. I missed it.

Bergen, Norway

The weather wasn’t cooperating in the morning but I did get off the ship to walk around the town. It’s a very nice town with statues and things to see and there was a small market outside that was selling local things. I got a little turned around in that town because it is not set with grids to find your way back to the ship so I saw more things than I probably would have normally.

Honningsvag, Norway

This port was a very small village in the northernmost Part of Norway. The north Cape is the northern most part of Europe and that is exactly where this port was. It was a Sunday, I believe, and everything was pretty much closed up and you didn’t even see the locals walking around.

Kristiansand, Norway

I got off the ship early to go out and pick up a few things that I needed. Back at the port to hop on an excursion at 2:30. This is a very, very nice city.

Alesund, Norway

3 out of 5
I had a long excursion at this port so I really didn’t see much of the city. I wasn’t impressed with the tour but I did get to see some of the area.

Tromso, Norway

Trump so it was our first stop north of the Arctic Circle. I did not see any of the town because my excursion took most of the day.

Geiranger, Norway

One of the most beautiful fjords I have ever seen in my life.
