This was our first cruise as adults. Overall, it was such a fun experience and a great way to celebrate our twentieth anniversary. Looking froward to the next cruise!
Embarkation

We had a Grand Suite, which let us board early. The whole process was quick and smooth. We dropped our day bags in our suite and hit the pool before the crowds arrived.

Food and Dining
5 out of 5
I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food, given the fact that it’s basically institution food on a massive scale. From the buffers to the specialty restaurants, we could find plenty of variety and quality was pretty good. If we didn’t like something, easy to get something else to try. We found the service to be very good, as well. My only complaint was the murder mystery dinner theater. It was fun and the food was good, but the service was so slow. After about the 3rd hour, we began to feel like we were being held hostage. The 4th hour just dragged on as guests began to skip dessert and make their escapes.
Onboard Activities

The pools were small, but I understand that typical on a cruise ship. The fitness center was well appointed and we intended to use it, but just didn’t take the time. Plenty of people took advantage of mini-golf, rock climbing wall and basketball.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We loved the stage shows—very talented musicians, singers and dancers. We went to just about every show. Also good entertainment in the atrium. One of our party won the karioki contest.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Can’t say enough good things about the staff, especially our concierge, Haffner Pereira. Haffner took very good care of us.
Ship Quality

Jewel is an older ship, but seems in good repair and well maintained.
