Review summary

Very clean and well run. We were impressed to learn that the ship won awards for environmental cleanliness. Loved the library and fitness center as well as the gentle dance music in the main "Centrum" lounge. Easy to find your way around after the first day.

Ports of call

Bar Harbor, Maine

We've been here before and enjoyed the state park as well as lobster and blueberry pie. For shoppers, there's a lot to see here.
Don't Miss: Views from the state park. Blueberry pie

Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts

We had never been to Martha's Vineyard and were surprised that the town was small. We hired a cab and got a 1 hour personalized narrated tour of Oak Bluffs and Edgartown, which was definitely worthwhile
Don't Miss: Camp cottages

Saint John, New Brunswick

3 out of 5
It was cold and rainy, so we stayed on the ship

Portland, Maine

We took the hop on/hop off city bus for a quick tour of the town and got some great deals at the LL Bean outlet. The interesting shopping was mostly on the street where the boat docked, so that was an easy walk. Good chowder

Halifax, Nova Scotia

5 out of 5
We loved the history and museums here. On another trip, we rented a car and toured the island, stopping at Peggy's Cove which is very scenic. The story of the Halifax Explosion rivals 9/11.
Don't Miss: Maritime Museum, Citadel, Peggy's Cove

Pros: Embarking and disembarking, including for shore trips, was remarkably easy. Staff were friendly and helpful. The view from the fitness center was great, which kept us motivated to keep coming back to use the new equipment. Staff was able to accommodate our special diet needs (no garlic) with ease

Cons: Although this only happened in a couple of locations, we didn't like walking through smoky areas to get to some of the entertainment and spots with good views. My husband is allergic to perfume and aftershave and some of the elevators and dining arrangements made it hard to avoid
