It will take some getting used to if you are used to the larger ships. This one is specifically made to go thru the canal and is longer and skinnier than the others. There are 4 floors in the piazza which relocates things. Also all food is located in the front of the ship.

The internet is terrible VERY VERY VERY slow. Speedtest.net shows a result of only .25KB which is slower than dialup modem but yet they charge and arm and a leg price wise for the service Terrible.

Overall we liked the ship and the staff. The Horizon uses washing stations that are monitored for use by a staff member (hurrah). No wash no enter! Plates are handed to you as you enter the Horizon buffet area (hurrah). I hope Princess does this on all their ships as it was not being done on the Caribbean Princess when we were on it in October 2017. The ship has about 2300 passengers but we did not experience any issues of crowding in the common areas, pools, etc. No International cafe is a big negative as the Coral (sister ship) has it. No plans to add an International cafe per Maitre D. We did the Chef's Table dining ($95) it was outstanding and well worth the money.

The cruise was fun with all the ports to visit. I was with my fiance while he worked on a new show being installed. Word of advice if you're under 55 you'll be bored out of your mind. The average age of most passengers on this ship are 75. Lots of scooters and people with walkers. Also, there isn't much to do on the ship. I think it's okay if you're older, they have skin tightening seminars and pickle ball play. After about 10 days of the same thing , it gets pretty boring. I did enjoy "Movies Under the Stars" on most nights when the movies were decent. It helped pass some of the time on long sea days. Overall, for my age group i would not recommend this cruise to people. The ports were neat though.

Bummer... the promenade did not circumvent the ship. Old signage has not been removed since horrible Princess remodel to add more staterooms in the area of the former promenade. Lots of unused area in remodeled decks 14 and 15. Otherwise, the ship is in good shape.

Don't expect food all 24 hours, and it's a small ship so you'll get around easily. Outside of main shows, not a whole lot going on in evenings.

Don’t book on the huge ships. When you take a smaller ship like the Island Princess, there is more of a personal touch, you really get to know your room and food stewards and other people on the ship. You are never rushed or waiting in line to get into dining or entertainment.
