Review summary

Princess cruise was an excellent experience for me. The Alaska trip is more for the mature age group, 45+. Don't expect to party like your in your 20s, although they did have late evening DJs. More of a relaxing, educational, sightseeing cruise with excellent food, service, and itinerary.

Embarkation

Pretty good overall considering the amount of people that is being processed. Everything was handled well from start to finish.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The dining room experience was excellent. Great attentive service and high end restaurant quality food and presentation. The buffet was mediocre to good depending on what the dish was. The dining room was far superior and would opt for that whenever you can. We only went to the buffet for convenience or if the dining room was closed. We went to the Bayou canjun specialty restaurant, it was good, but not great. The food was much better in the included dining restaurant and don't think it was worth the extra money.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Princess offered a good mix of activities to keep everyone engaged if they wanted to. I liked the local Alaska presentations.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Excellent service throughout. A couple of times the waiters forgot to refill the drink or messed up the order. But it was rare and they corrected it immediately. Aside from that, outstanding and consistent quality of service throughout.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Always clean, not a fingerprint on any glass or handrail. They must have elves working at night to keep the ship clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip

Attend the Local lectures and presentation. Well done, entertaining and informative.

Do you need to have scheduled dining to go to the dining room or can you use the dining room with anytime dining as well?
